I got the CD boxes (one 8 CD box and one 4 CD box). They are all compilations of 80s singles. The 8 CD box is divided 5 parts. The first 4 CDs consist of top 40 hits of the 80s, CD5 has slow songs, CD6 has crazy songs, CD7 has forgotton songs and CD8 has Rare songs. RV4 is on the 2nd CD and Zoolook on CD7.

The 2nd box, the one with 4 CDs, has a better overall selection of tracks, imho. It also has an extra booklet with the sleeves of all the 12"s.

On both boxes all record labels involved are thanked, so it looks like Dreyfus gave permission to release these tracks.

I just found the following CD box set:

http://www.discogs.com/Various-100-Tube ... se/2033207

It's got 8 CDs, released by Wagram, an independant label who specializes in re-releases of hard to find records and material which has never been available on CD before. The box set was released in 2009 and contains the maxi single versions of Rendez-Vous 4 and Zoolook, both only available on vinyl.

I just ordered a copy, so I can see/listen what quality it is.

It would be very interesting to hear how the tracks sound. Great find.
It makes you wonder if there are any other JMJ remixes released on obscure compilations, and why there had been no JMJ sanctioned release of tracks like these.

Yes, there is this CD with JMJ's 1972 cover version of Popcorn on it: 18 Top Hits of the 60's & 70's vol 1

WOW! The only version I have ever heard, is the one on Rarities and it has a lot of record scratch.
I used this version for my Cover version, and the last part was really hard to analyze because of noise, så this is really great news if it is real.

...maybe it is my version they have put on the CD?

I'm getting the CDs asap, I'm expecting them this week actually. But what I've heard on the internet, this is the real deal. A review for this CD box talks about using the mastertapes.

Couldn't wait, found RV4 an "alternative" place!
It's perfect, no record scratch.

Why are things like this not on an official Jarre record, instead of Essential no. 6 with the same songs again and again.???

Because what FDM releases is all that JMJ allows them to release ...
As to how these tracks ended up in another compilation ....

The Razormaid link you provided is in fact, a re-edited version of the Zoolook 12" remix. The compilation uses the original 12" version.
Razormaid were a DJ publishing company who re-edited existing 12" remixes for the US dance market. They did a similar re-edit of the Revolutions 12", which I'll be uploading to the database - as soon as I can move house :D

Ok sorry, I wasn't aware.
BTW if people are uploading some rare stuff from CD, It would be nice to do it in a lostless format. Windows media player can grab in WMA Lostless. ;)

I also have the Zoolook razormaid mix on CD, I'll rip it to FLAC and upload it.
