Please tell me that was intentional?
Advice for the track:
1) Pay more attention to stereo placement of instruments.
2) Pay more attention to timbral character of drums, bass, seq as well as overall gain.
3) Adjust the horn lead amp envelope, give it a some more harmonics
4) Bring both leads more clearly out of the mix.
Overall it's heading in the right direction, keep it up!

Lol!! I never noticed the shape before!
As to your points, can you explain a little more about the timbral character and how I can improve this, as well as the harmonics on the horn lead? I can hear there's something not quite right but couldn't seem to make it sound any better either with my limited knowledge.
I thought the leads were a little quiet, I was pleased with the sound though so I would like to bring it out more. Thanks for the encouragement (and pointing out my questionable wave shape!)

Just make the horn lead brighter (that's what it means to have some more harmonics) (less harmnics and you approach triangle and sine wave territory)
Timbral character, well, that's where the fun is, that's where your synthesis knowledge, mixing and processing knowledge all get their work out and combine for the final outcome.
Try to isolate one sound, either by extreme filtering or eq and listen only to that sound.
Try and replicate it as close as you possibly can at the moment. Be careful not to filter parts of the sound that are more hidden in the mix.
Go one by one. Once satisfied:
Then assemble your mix. Then continue to shape your sounds, so that they fit together.
Compare against original, adjust some more and so on..
This is advice when going for exact covers.
Otherwise your approach could be a lot more liberal if you're doing an interpretation of the original.
I see, that makes a lot more sense now. I had never thought of trying different things by filtering or even slowing them down, I've just tended to listen by ear and pick things out. It's also very hard as I can never decide if I want it to sound the same or to have something a bit different to it if that makes sense! I'm learning more about sound creation all the time and I'm starting to pick up a few ideas of processing and mixing so hopefully I can gradually improve.
I shall take all your advice on board, and experiment some more!
