My work is more firmly rooted in either the Berlin School movement of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, or Ash Ra Tempel rather than in Jarre territory thus I hope it won´t be too much out of place on a forum like this. The other face of the medal is (dark) ambient music, so if you´re into the likes of Brian Eno, Robert Rich, Lustmord, or Steve Roach, you might like to give them a try, too. I thought you might like to learn more about my work which is -- for the biggest part at least -- available both as digital downloads and real *physical* CDs. Some of the albums (particularly those more ambient ones) are available on CDR only (or have been discontinued after the initial batch of 25 copies had sold out).

The most recent addition to my download catalogue is my 1998 debut album "Traces of the Past" in remastered format which was recorded between 1994 and 1997. The majority of the tracks was performed on the original Mellotrons formerly owned by Edgar Froese and Peter Baumann (Tangerine Dream) or Klaus Schulze. This album is firmly rooted in mid-1970s Berlin and full to the brim with analogue synthesisers, sequencers, and rhythm computers (first and foremost the EKO Compute Rhythm and Korg Mini Pops 7). "Hoellenengel" was released in 2005 and recorded between 2000 and 2004. The idea was to create a sequel to the "Blade Runner" score Vangelis had created in 1981/82, using exactly the same instruments as Vangelis himself. 85% of the music was performed on the Yamaha CS80 synthesiser, plus additional embellishments from Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus, Rhodes Piano, Mini Moog, and some Korg Polyphonic. The real stuff, btw, not the plug-ins (just in case you were wondering).
"cambrium" is available in two versions: The download version is a demo version recorded before the album´s premiere at Bochum Planetarium back in December 2008. The music was performed entirely on an ARP 2600 synthesiser. As with "Traces" and "Hoellenengel", you can also order a *real* CD of this album. The CD version was also performed on the 2600, plus a lot of additional textural work created on an EMS VCS-3 Mk. 1. This is purely electronic sound somewhere between "Forbidden Planet" and Tangerine Dream´s "Phaedra".
Real manfuatured CD releases of these three albums are available from me directly at 15 Euro each (if you order more, I will adjust the price accordingly) plus shipping (which depends on where you´re located) if you´re not too fond of downloads. Just drop me a line.
From the download-only section I´d like to recommend my 2010 ambient music release "permafrost" which is three hours of ambient textures and processed acoustic sound of melting ice, frozen lakes, and burning fire. You might also enjoy the other download-only albums like "Planetary Music" (a planetarium live recording from early 2008), "tektonik" and "grönland" (particularly if you like the work of Thomas Köner), or "drones and shimmers".
