Maybe some of us knows I own an Emulator I (which does not work). I recently discovered, by obtaining Emulator I banks in Kontakt4 format, that JM Jarre used this sampler for the choir part.

There is two part played with the Emulator I, low part (right chanel) and high part (left chanel).
At the end of part 1 of Ethnicolor, JM Jarre add Fairlight "Ahah" sound with some solina on the Emulator part. We can see that on the original score except of Ethnicolor from Remilleux Book : Emulator part is called "Choeur 1".

I'm waiting for other bank sampled from my emulator disquette collection (100s), a deal with a guy who collects original disquettes only and in exchange converts sounds on Kontakt4 and EmuX format.
For moment I didn't heard the famous "Tsust" sound used on Ethnicolor and Zoolookologie. I'm wondering if it is not a fake when I heard that this sound was used with Emulator, altought the "two combi patches" emulator design would fit to have a "shaker" and "choir" sound.
I have excellent drum sounds.

As you know, Emulator I sounds are not foundable on the internet, I spend some money to buy an original Emulator I with the complete "emulatorarchive.com" disquette banks; and the deal is not easy to have bank, so for moment, I'm not ready to put some sounds online.
My actual Emulator I bank is sized 460Mo in high resolution.

excellent news. i had privillage to reapir emulator II but had no more time to explore sounds and 180 disk pack coz guy wanted it back how the original sounds are called?

also maybe now You'll be able to reckognize what choir sounds were used in Arpegiator/Souvenir the Chine?

JM Jarre used Emulator I on Zoolook. Emulator I and Emulator II don't have same sounds.

More over Emulator I disquettes are not compatible on Emulator II because the disk driver is different.

Maybe 500 models of Emulator I has been produced in the world.

That Lexicon 480 sure does liven things up. What type of reverb setting is used?

Yep, the reverb changes a lot, sound is darker. You can find settings on the name of file if you download it.

That's quite interesting I always thought Jarre used his own samples with the Emulator rather than factory sounds.

Be nice if there was a soft-synth version available so that these old sound libraries were available again, the Emulator had a particularly unique 'feel' to its sound.

I think many of us in the old days where pretty sure, that Jarre made all of his sounds himself, and maybe was a bit disappointed to find out, that the most of them was presets
I think: Elka Synthex, Roland D50 and not at least Fairlight. I still can't believe that he didn't even tweaked them, I sure would.

True, true, but I've heard things come out of a D50 that I couldn't imagine being D50..

Excellent sound. Best of luck fixing up your EI with a complete library. That must be a very hard thing to do these days with so few of them in good order (or so it would appear).

The EII is my favourite item and probably most played of all my gear and would love an EI too. Keep us updated.
