So, what is this aero-docking-ipod stuff all about? Is it really that good?
I've got pretty big 1.20m high wooden speakers from Tannoy and a separate preamplifier and power amplifier with high quality blahdiblah Class A blahblah MOSFET-circuitry with separate voltage supplies and other fancy stuff (at least in the 80s).
It's not "high end" stuff, so no golden cinch plugs (......ehm..."interlinks"....), copper-free speaker wire and other bullshit. It sounds nice. Better than any pc-speaker or plastic jvc amplifier. I've never heard good sound coming from all these plastic design stuff.like this AeroSystem...
Is it really sounding good or is it just marketing? is there a hidden (sub)woofer or is it just two of those pilars?

Worse even, it's one of those pillars.
I have Harman Kardon Soundsticks II, and for plastic thingies, they sounds suprisingly good. It ain't all that bad, the non-eighties stuff

It all looks like Star Trek....

I can imagine it sounds good, and already much better than cheap JVC speakers. But is it also good compared to a couple of nice (and affordable, so not the $10.000 top class, dual concentric, reference, limited editions) loudspeakers from Bowers & Wilkins, Misson, Tannoy, Warfedale, Kef etc..?

I can't really compare, but a friend of mine has a big Harman Kardon amp w/ 3-way Mission speakers and he thought it sounded surprisingly strak for the money..
