I've noticed that there are so many tries to reproduce this swirl. I've found a site that contains guide how to make DIY project of ss. it uses very cheap ca3080 instead of 3094. and it sounds 1:1

also you can use as replacement:
bc549 instead of 2n5088
bc560 instead of 2n5087

whole project costs sth bout 20$.
