Univox SR95 to Keio MP7 (minipops) project

Hello,
As some of you probably know, the Univox SR95 lacks the rimshot sound of the Keio MP7 (minipops) — the sound is substituted with the cowbell.

I took a look inside my SR95 and noticed that the board has the required circuitry for this sound, it even has a pulse wire connected with the initials RS next to it. Sending it a 4.5V pulse triggered the cowbell sound. There is no other connections coming from the trigger point so it must be coupled to the cowbell somewhere on the pulse generation board.

Anyway, someone kindly sent me the required (and hard to find) transducer and I set about adding the components to the board. (I also replaced all electrolytic caps but this wasn't really necessary):

After:

It was hard to tell if it worked because the cowbell drowned out any rimshot sound, but after de-soldering the cowbell trigger, I did now in fact have the missing rimshot sound as used on the slow rock and bosanova patterns.

My problem now is finding where the rimshot trigger has been coupled to the cowbell trigger. I have the SR95 schematic and, more importantly, the board layout diagram. I really need the board layout diagram of the MP7 if available in order to complete this. Does anyone have a copy they could share or know where it's available? No point in posting the incomplete image of the schematic, I already have that but it doesn't show what I need.

Thanks for any help.

Okay, maybe my post was too long. Anyone know how to remove the rhythm selector buttons and cage in a non-destructive way?

no problem, I understand your request.

answer to you question : yes it's totally destructive.
With mine MP7 midi, I do it because some buttons are defect following a very bad postal packaging. Chance for me because I don"t use the internal sequencer, I decide to remove completely the buttons system. I keep only the sequencer board for power supplies.

are you "specialist" in electronics ?

Thanks for replying, I appreciate it.

I won't attempt it if it's destructive. I'm not an expert at all, but I've build electronic projects etc.

I've found out where the jumper is that connects the cowbell and the rimshot sound. It's right next to the rimshot wire on the pulse board (orange wire on my unit).

I wonder if you could do something for me if you have time, but I understand if you can't. I would love to have a close-up, high resolution picture of the top of your board right on the opposite side to where the rimshot wire connects so that I can see the layout of the board under the button cage. Any chance? As I say, I understand if you can't for any reason.

EDIT: Actually, the other side of the cowbell wire (yellow) would be good too. Sorry to ask, but I have a problem where I've tried to disconnect the jumper at these 2 places.

Hope to hear back from you,
Barry.

PM you email, I can send to you a large pictures. and we can also discuss with your midiproject.
If I remember well, you can desold the jump from the back and extract it during the desold..
