Solina String Ensemble : midi in mod

Hi,
I would like share a complete guide to add a midi in connexion.
It's use a midi kit from doepfer MTC64 midi to contact and a home made electronic interface to control Solina divider.
Really nice to control it by midi to recreate oxygene 4 strings for exemple..
SSE is the little brother of Eminent 310, sounds are not exeactly the same

Saddly in there i think all even simpliest but still usefull analog equiment (expect cheap mixers) its are pricey at least to me.

midi interface from doepfer cost aproximatively 99 euro, all assembled & tested with power supply. The hardest (precise work) part is to sold all cable to the divider board. And maybe to put the midi connector on the back panel.

Super! Great job again, after the MIDIpops the Solina MIDI, very interesting and impressive.
One question: since the SSE (for short) has already GATE & TIGGER outputs in ARP standard, do you know if it's possible to obtain a CV OUT signal?
I like the keyboard of the Solina a lot and I'd like to use it to control CV-Gate devices.

I don't know really good the CV signal and his conception.. I suppose that is possible to convert with a blackbox midi signal to CV out.
But I don't know if it's directly possible to get the signal direclty from the intern keyboard of eminent solina (without midi out mod..)
do you have internet site with blackbox solution about CV in & CV out ?
Maybe I can analyse the voltage/note or voltage/octave.

Nice installation !
I have one question though, why the use of an opto coupler ? I mean is it not possible to gate each solina tone without that part ? Or maybe the circuit doesnt work this way ?
Have to go open my VP-330 and RS-202

Like you say, circuit don't apreciate to work directly with the output from the midikit.
Midikit give 0 or +5V and with the optocoupler is totally transparent.
if you both VP-330 and RS-202 are analog and no midi, it's probably a similar integration.

Ok, I had a look on my RS-202 and each note is gated with +18 Volts. I had the idea of using an transistor instead of an opto coupler but have to see about that when I order the kits from Doepfer. This is darn nice though, easy way to install midi to string synthesizers
