How would you describe your own musical taste?

Often people say: I like this and that band or solo act, but what are the genres and elements you really appreciate? So describe your taste in this topic.. but don't dare to come up with band names! :D

My music taste is basicly all bout melodies, good lyrics (sometimes silly ones) but there has to be a kind of emptyness in the music. There has to be a little hole in the music where you can hear silence. Then I hateslammy music and music all about putting down the female gender. I just can't hear p-i-m-p me here and p-i-m-p me there. I just hate it!

Electronic music in general. But I also like classic music, some rock, etc.

I don't like mainstream music, though. It got to be unique. :)

Good?

...or more correctly, it's differently from one week to the next.
At home I need something to sit back and relax to, in the car I want something to keep me alert, at work something to help me concentrate on what I'm doing, sometimes something to help me sleep...and so on.
I like many kind of music (exept opera, soul and R'n B) but often it's instrumental.

By one word: Unique.

Otherwise: I like whatever I like, and that's fine with me. I seem to dislike some genres, but I still find some good stuff from them too. So I'm not the "anything goes" or "just this stuff goes" type, more like "things I like even a bit goes" ;)

Electronic mostly, although some alternative britpop is ok (Franz Ferdinand etc.). Something with a melody, so no hard rock or metal.

Progressive Rock (Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, Frank Zappa etc.) mostly, but I love JMJ too, and he's #2 on my "favorite artists" list currently!

Some do fail this topic. You were not supposed to use band-names or artists names here. You were just supposed to use words to describe the thing you listen to.

Oh...OK.

I listen to music which I find good and enjoyable. All from complex and progressive stuff to rusty thrash-metal. Depends on which band though, Im very demanding when it comes to music.

BJ-1 gets 6 points at Eurovision Song contest from Sweden and me for this good way of telling us what he likes!

Something as exciting as a perfectly dressed (or preferebly not) voluptuous awsome woman/lady in front of me...

I don't know "why" I get aroused and react, I just do...
Same with music, whatever style, sometimes something totally strange (recently in India) get's me in the "WTF so SO great thing is that? mode", and I get that uncontrolable burning and pleasure feeling inside telling "go get it tiger, NOW".

Kind Regards,
AMR

PS - I lately am really somewhat interested in also knowing the "why"... behind the burning excitation.

I like music that will take me by the paw and lead me on fantastic adventures. Sometimes that adventure can be as grandiose as seeing the Universe formed, other times as simple as sitting in a cafe and sipping a cuppa. I like music that enfolds me in strong arms and makes love to me gently under the moon or music that breezes softly against me on a warm summer's day. My tastes are wide and varied, but the music must tell me a story, show me an image, express to me a smell or touch that is totally unique and beautiful.
