It's not a dream !!! Midifing MP7 project finished

After long time of work,my project is now finished : I have a minipops 7 contolled by midi.
Each sound have his own note. I can easy recreate the O2 - O4 - O6 rhytm !
I just try to create the equinoxe 4 rhytm., but the snare is a little different...
some pictures :
pic 1 : (rear panel) midi in, main output, quijada output
pic 2 : (front panel) : 5 x volume pot replica from original, midi activity led, sequencer board only for power, midi processor board, interface board, and the sound generator board.
pic 3 : (sound generator board) : separate output is esay to make. MP7 have a little intenral mixer (done with resistance) to merge all output to the balance pot then to the main output pot.

separate output is easy to make it, I just choose here to separate the quijada (delay effect)
when I have more time, it's possible to seprate the snare or hihat... tambourine.
@Radek : do you have a specific intrument to separate for oxygene or equinoxe ?

A real midi-MP7 -fantastic. Nice to hear my Nord patches along side it. If I ever get hold of an MP7, will you midi it for me??, Matt

hey Matt, I'm very happy to finalyze this project.
When I start I decide to midifing the MP7 to a rack 1U but now I think is possible to intergrate in the original MP7 enclosure...
If you ever get hold of an MP7, no problem I can do it for you

midipops 7 is a very good name
this version of midifing is a rack, but during the next weeks, I will try to include all electronic circuit into the MP7 case. It will give the possibility to play with midi OR with the internal sequencer. All with the original case.
Now that is very cool

Wow !
I'd like to do the same with my Univox as the rhythms just aren't the same as the MP7 as you know. Could you write a guide to the mods you've made / listing the electrical components needed / cost / and a schematic.
I know that is a lot to ask after you have done all the hard work, not just risking damaging your MP7, but what you have done is a great service to the Jarre community.
The MP3 music demo file is great by the way.

Nice project, well done. I joined the forum because of this post.
Looking at your pictures I assume you're using the
MD24 MIDI Decoder from Highly Liquid. I was thinking of getting one of these but how are you triggering the guiro sound? When I put a 5V pulse across it, it just gives one short click.

Good Job you've done there.
I decided to sell my MP7,No longer had a use for it,plus would rather use Samples as its one less Box in the setup.
