Hi all,

Anybody know how that fantastic sequence was made by Tangerine Dream. Not overly impressed by them generally, but this track I think, is awesome.

Would love to know some info on how the track was made and what instruments were used ect.

How can you be an electronic musician and not like them.. I think you should check them out properly before making such big claims...

As for the track, it's called "Le Parc" - and the sequence sounds to me as done on a digital synth, either PPG or DX7, lots of Octave up/down and pingponging going on there, along with some fast played chords in combination w/ delay synced to the sequence. At least, that's what I think to hear.

This track is what got me into the TD,overall much of there stuff is good,trouble is they have changed line ups so much that there styles never seemed to settle in one direction,and much of the last 15 years of music is all shitty 12 string guitars and over happy Sax shite,although recent offerings seem to be flowing back to that synth sound design again

Whilst you may say you don't like much of TDs music ,on the majority yes its crap and boring but Boy are you missing some great 70s electronica with things Like "Ricochet" and "Phaedra or "Force Majeure",some classic synth music,some of this is perhaps very close to what you like in Klaus Schulze music after all he was a part of their original line up,and I'd say essential listening for every synth nut,some albums that are a staple part of Electronica history like Oxygene

Don't base your perception on them simply only doing the Streethawk theme as a real pure electronic track,whilst its a great electronic track,they have done far better stuff prior to this and a couple of great albums after it(Like Melrose and Lily On the Beach/Optical Race),they must have some 60+Albums to date(Maybe even more,since I stopped showing an interest in them in the mid 90s)Last album I bought was Rockoon,although I like some of the tracks it signalled the end of my interest in them,they had become simply elevator music.

As for the Equipment??although I like much of their stuff I have never shown the slightest bit of interest in their methods or Equipment usage,which is unusual for me,but something that never really grabbed my attention in the same way i was interested in Jarre's Methods or gear.

I Think Marcien(Rambo/Its me only)who used to come in here did a superb cover of this Track,and he nailed the sequences to a tee,if he was in here still he could perhaps help you out
