this is a track I've been working on with Nord Lead and D50; the 2 arps are coming from Nord and I am using another patch from D50:

Another cool thing about the 2x, if you are using it in multitimbral mode, each sound can be assigned to a dedicated output, so different external effects can be used for each sound at the same time

It's really nothing more than a sketch (work in progress as the title implies). Thanks for the comment though. It should be more developed once it's finished (easier said than done ).

I think this is one of best feature in these clavias instruments. Other one is something in sound some uses.

Yeah but for some reason they have ditched this way of thinking, since the Nord Wave iso nly 2 part multitimbral, and the NL2x and NL3 are the only Nords with separate output for each, I think.

Nord Stage has that feature too

Absolutely adore the Nordlead 2 keyboard I have. Certainly more authentic sounding than the JP8000 which has a thinner, plasticy sound to my ears. I also prefer it to my Waldorf Q which is an awkward and very deep synth despite its zillion knobs on the panel.

Wonder if the Virus beats them all - never used one but heard good things.

QUESTION; When I first bought my JP8000 I found the sound quality staggering yet now, I 'm not so impressed. Have I just got used to it amongst my others or is it possible that a synths overall sound quality can deteoriate ?

Well there is definitely a difference in quality between my Nord and SH-201. The 201 doe sound cheaper, where the Nord has a more professional sound, if ou can say so. I also find it much better to shape classic analogue-like sounds. However the 201 is also a low budget synth, and is without doubt not cared as much around as the with the Nords for instance. It still annoys me that I haven't tried the JP8000. I can only imagine that it has a better feel than the 201, due to the fact that the JP seems like a more original synth, and because it has been so popular. Of course the SuperSaw made it very good for the new sound that was in development during the 90's.

It's always a pleasure to read your theories Equinoxe, as there is usually food for the brain I certainly agree about the visual thing, since this affect me a lot (still I do focus on the functionality and to what degree it acts like I think). Another thing about the Nord. It's full of poor sounds and what I visually see is a bunch of downed patches though still simple and the power cut away. The Nord Leads don't give you much, unless you start moving the knobs. Well that can be a disadvantage, if you are looking for something to catch your attention, but IMO the basic concept and look has already done so. Besides the fact that the Nord was a breakthrough back in 1995, and not a typical bandwagon product as the soup cooking of today's known technologies.
It's just like it doesn't give too much away, but appeals to those who want to be creative.
