I know about the M-Tron soft, cause i have already use it 2 or 3 years ago), but i didn't know that there's a keyboard with it !! Pretty nice design, just miss a wood box behind it ^^

It's also two different products. M-tron is a piece of software by M-audi, G-media, G-force or whatever, and the Memotron is a hardware keyboard by manikin electronic. It was written in JMJ's blog during the Oxygene Tour that he bought a Memotron, which was then on stage only once during the tour. However he also mentioned it as a backup for the Mellotron, Dominique played during the tour.
It's a nice product but still very expensive for a simple keyboard with Mellotron samples. M-tron is a cheaper alternative then.

It looks a bit "My First Mellotron" kid toy-ish.

I'm all for these vintage replications,Like the Moogs and Prophets etc,maybe if the Memotron was actually based on the same principle of the melly with the actual tape racks and playback mechanisms,rather than just an expensive digital playback Rompler,it would be more justifiably priced I wouldn't buy it even if it was half the price......

All your paying for is the few Mellotron reference sounds and a simple retro casing appeal,you can easily get by with a cheap sampler and Mellotron sample sets.or those VSTs..

Looks nice but it's way too expensive. I'd rather keep using my Mtron.

The melotron was an overpriced taperecorder, so this is an overpriced sampler...

I like it though, it looks nice clean and simple to use.. And I'm kinda curious how the eminent strings of that thing sound... (yes, it also has those...)

Nice gadged, but absolutely useless . You'd better buy a descent sampler for that price :')

Gief Memotron!!! I want one, but it's way overpriced. But it looks and sounds so beautiful.

I'm lucky enough to have recently bought a Memotron, with the Vintage Collection 2 expansion giving extra sounds, including two sets of Eminent 310U String sounds.

I admit that this thing is not cheap, however, the sounds are stunning and I would not part with it. My reasoning for buying it is that I have loads of Eminent/Mellotron sounds in software form, but it just doesn't excite me looking at a screen, I want keys and physical knobs and dials. Also, have you tried routing software Eminent strings out of a computer, through a small stone and back in again for recording?

I think the Memotron looks ace, and people who have seen it comment on it's looks, despite not having a clue what it is.

I know people are calling it a very expensive, if not overpriced ROMpler, but you are actually buying a replica Mellotron, and if it's a Mellotron you want, then with a Memotron, then a Mellotron is what you'll get.

The touch of the keyboard is one of the best I have and it is a joy to play. To me the whole experience of playing the Memotron is a joy. No software dials, no memory overloads, no crashes, just pure vintage Mellotron playing. I simply haven't got the space for an Eminent, so this is the closest I'm going to get.

One last thing, I don't work for Manikin, I just love this instrument (and it's limitations). My advice is if you can afford one, buy one.
