Hi folks, I've made a somewhat weird piece of music. At least some people would maybe get pissed of at me. Who and why?

1. Composers. I've had no education in music, so minor and major chords are used whenever I thought it was OK.
2. Sound engineers. The spoken words in it was recorded with a built-in laptop microphone, and then noise reduced in Audacity and processed to 300-400% more volume.
3. Lyrics writers. The words told are somewhat silly, and especially the wordplay used in the title.
4. Other musicians 'cause I don't play anything live, and for the unconventional use of rythms, chords (as told), and so on.


Here it is: Mind you my mind

Maybe we could have a contest? The one who manages to write down most of the lyrics would win a whole... congratulation! (The lyrics has somewhat low volume.)

I don't think Mind You My Mind track is weird. Although, the title of the track is a bit unusual. But that is good, cause I like unusual things. The music is very good. Really enjoyable to listen to. Well done! The track is now on my iTunes.

As for the lyrics, atm I can only make out:

This music is crap.

LOL. This is after I have had a couple of glasses of wine.

And yes, one of the sentences is indeed "This music is crap!"
But you have to understand the other ones to see the meaning. Heheh.

Hehe, it's a little weird indeed, but I like that!
The strings are a little static and mixed in "front" of the mix. Maybe you can make that part by adding a little effect like a phaser or something, and give it a little bit reverb, to give the song a little more depth. And put that voice a little bit louder, so we can understand the voice!
But it's really a nice song, congrats!

I could only give you feedback as a listener. I have knowledge of creating music.

Jarp: Thanks for your advice, I will try that. Regarding the volume of the voice; as I've said the quality of the recordings are crap IMO, so I don't know how much more I can squeeze out without getting too much noise. But I'll try.

Kanta: Don't worry, most people are only listeners, but I just need opinions by other people 'cause I can't be objective when it comes to my own creations. In a way, that's what the lyrics is about.

I like it, as there's nothing that much unusual about the chords (well, au contraire, you are sticking to major, minor and hanging 4th, which is as usual as one can get) or even the progression-cadence (which is dramatic, much like Oxygene 1, but not unusual - they all have names in the very conservative... conservatory - eh eh).

The use of voice or even the rythm is not unusual - and besides, the throwed in melodies work very well.

The kind of "modal" feel is what gives it a "horror drama" like feeling, much like Oxygene 1, which is nothing like your theme, but the "mode" is also "scary" to put it in lame terms.

From an audio engineering point of view, ah well, it works, just some polished mastering and it's broadcast ready.

Keep it up, it sounds very fresh, with a great groove.

I need a decent name for it, per now I only use the project name(s) "Muligens brukelig93" and "Brukelig1". So if anyone could help me out with a nice name, I would be happy.

That would work very well as game music

I like both of those.

The last one, here's my suggestion on a name - As the beat is similar in style to Jarre's MF 2, in which that track ends with a train sample, I can imagine this piece used in a tv advertisement for a train or train network, so I would call it either Amtrack or Bullet Train.

It's a very cheery and rhythmic tune.

Some of it sounds like what music sounded like in the sixties. Okay, not exactly but slightly.

Huh, I thought I would get away almost ripping off MF2 beat.
I will consider the name Amtrack, though I don't see any close relation; but it's a cool name anyway. But if you have more suggestions, please let me know.

As for the vid, I think I have a slightly different style, but it's not miles away either. Cool music IMO. No comment on the dancing!

Hmm, er ikke sikker på om jeg vet hva mer som burde gjøres; så gjerne gi meg tips hvis du har. Man har nemlig lett for å låse seg fast i spor man følger hver eneste gang, så kommentarer fra andre er et must for meg.


Thank you all for your comments, I really appreciate feedback from others. I can reveal I'm working on a new project, with a really different mood and style; but I'll probably need a week or two or three before I'm close to finished with that one.
Any more comments I can nag out of you?
