I had a fun day today wrangling with the muppets at my local Phones4u outlet!
Two days ago, I bought a Motorola MOTOKRZR K1 on the Vodafone network for £75. Got it home, and when I went to install the software, my computer crashed and I had to manually restart it. I then went to the Motorola site and after finding the updated software, downloaded it, and then my computer would not recognise the phone.
I tried it on my brother's computer (similar spec to mine, except his has XP Home and I have Pro), and we got the same result - system crashing, needing restart and phone not being recognised.
Today, went back to Phones4u and informed them of the problem - they tried to wrangle out of it saying my computer wasn't up to the job and that I would have to upgrade it and blah-blah-blah. They also said that because it's on Vodafone, under their policy, I would not be entitled to a replacement because Vodafone doesn't allow it - but there were NO notices stating this in the store!
After asking to speak to the manager, I told him what I told the idiot who dealt with my enquiry and he said the same thing. I then informed that I have a right to either a replacement or refund as the product does not perform the way it should.
So, after about 30 minutes of them ar$ing me around and me staying cool and calm, I eventually got a refund and no apology whatsoever. I then went into the Vodafone store and bought a Vodafone 810 and a pair of Nokia MD-4 speakers for Maria's new phone.
I told the assistant in the Vodafone store if Vodafone does not allow retailers to return faulty phones and he said what Phones4u were saying was utter rubbish!!
Phones4u? more like Phones? F*** U!!
