And I know what you mean.I actually like the track. You just need some stereo seperation and some leads on top. Right now it's just harmony, nothing to sort of give it some edge. Better mixing and some highpass filtering on the bass.
It is a haunting and solemn track and that's great. I really like what you've done with the percussion as well. (I would make the noise sharper though - like Chariots of Fire)
And as for people who don't understand any sort of music that excludes the overused over-cliched instrument of the 20th century, in other words the guitar, they need to wake up and smell the coffee, and get some cultural education while they're at it.
