Astrid Lindgren should have becamed 100 years today!

Ah, our heroinne Astrid Lindgren, the woman who never wrote anything bad to kids and who were a sort of ombudsman for children of all ages by just writing all those good books. She is still missed here in Sweden and I will never forget the day that she died. I got the message from my mother and then I took a peak at the TV. I could not move from the bed in three days sobbing and crying so much that I am amazed that there can be so many tears in a person. It was like getting the rug of culture dragged off from the floor while you are at the same time standing on the rug. Never in my entire life felt that big a hole in my soul as the day that she died. She was everything good connected with childhood and had such a wonderful voice too.
Still right now, I feel like crying because she is like everything to me as a Swede! Awww how I still LOVE her to death.
I will never forget the time I had with my boyfriends cousins two daughters in Norway looking at Emil the Prankister on TV, one of them wanted to sit in my lap and they were like candles. I didn't know how to handle the situation because I felt like this was the most wonderul moment there was. And then when the programme ended and I sang along with the lyrics the elder girl turned her head arround to me and looked at me saying: Can you sing that? And I said: yes when I was at you age I saw those porgrammes too, and we even sing those songs in School
That moment was the ultimate beautiful children moment and I was there and had the privilage to be the girl they wanted to spend their time watching the programme with.
And my favourite is still Ronia The Robbers Daughter.
