Ok what's your top 3 favorite synths of all time, and why

1.Korg Oasys-
Say no more you can't understands its glory unless you've used one for a While,to most it perhaps looks like an overpriced rompler(Sequencer Kind of lets its down as complete workstation),but sound qualities and interface and features are second to none.

2.Virus TI-
Best VA ever made to date,Sounds very Minimoog ish in digital clothes and able to replicate almost any synth timbre,

3.Korg Z1-
Because its a Jewel in the Korg crown,that very few people appreciatte its beauty and what it can do,Hard to beleive this synth was a commercial Flop..

I don't really have any time for the Vintage gear anymore..(Well perhaps an Eminent and Minipops 7,but even those have been stored away for a while now)

I tried one a few days ago. Even though I didn't get very far with it I could feel the power of it. Amazing piece of gear. It made the VA:s in the same store sound like Bontempi keyboards.

I'm hoping that the Oasys will replace a large slice of my older synths in future upgradesI already have the Legacy Analog edition inside,giving me an MS20 and Polysix(Brilliant patching the MS20 using the Touchscreen),they've recently introduced the Mod-7 with the New OS which is kind of like Korgs VPM modelling on the Z1 which is all manner of FM modelling,a great thing about this upgrade is that it also allows you to load Yamaha DX7 sysex data patches into the Korg,there is talk of more kinds of backwards compatibility with other types of synthesis and past synths,I'm hoping that maybe someday they will do a kind offull on Legacy collection for the Oasys,which includes all the past synths in Korg armoury,although I don't pine for the Hardware of them and I still have a few of the Hardware synths,I would most certainly love to have all the Engines,things like the Trinity and 01W or M1 totally utilised inside the Oasys.The wavestation engine in the Oasys already takes the Original wavestation makeup to a further level,Would be great to have more of those Old Korg greats with more power and functions I've loved and lost over the years.I do certainly miss the great pads and textures off the 01W

I'm surprised not to see more vintage synths here

My favorite ones would be:

1. Oberheim OB-Xa
2. Yamaha CS80
3. ARP 2600

But I'm not sure about the order, It could be any other order of the 3,
also I could squeeze another instrument in the list too.

Oberheim, why, well, because it has the oberheim sound, which I like so much,
why not OBX? sounds to heavy, OBXa sounds a bit more elegant I think.

CS80, because of Vangelis, because it is so expressive, weeeeeoooouuunnnggggggg.....
And because it has a really fatt saw sound

Why ARP, because of Jarre, because of R2-D2 lol

There's already a Legacy Colletion Digital Edition as VST, which include the M1, T1-3 and Wavestation. It will only be a matter of time for this package to become available as Oasys upgrade, methinks.

Well I'm hoping for more of the older Romplers,the Wavestation is already built inside the Oasys,it has all the Wavesequences and more,its oart of the Internal HD engine the legacy Analog collection is already in there too,so maybe the M1 will make its way in their as well,The List I would like to see is M1/01W/Trinity/Triton/and the full on make up of the Z1(part of it is already there with the AL-1 and now the MOD7 VPM,)I do miss the Pads from the 01w all those wonderful flute FX atmospheres from Vangelis 1492 and Chronologie 5,also this synth had some of the best Choir sounds ever programmed on a Korg synth

There is talk of widening the Analog collection to include the PS Series and the Mono/Poly from the recent PC upgraded legacy version,Hopefully they'll also look at other past greats from other manufacturers like the MOD7 has allowing Yamaha DX sysex data to be loaded,this already opens up a library of literally thousands of sounds you can use,that were exclusivly reserved for Yamaha Synths.
