We all know that Jarre used to play this wonderful machine...any other fans of this keyboard in here like me?

Oh yeah, I love the Fairlight touch !!
We can't speak about the Fairlight without speaking about Zoolook album, or "how to use the best way such a beast" !!

I'm not a fan of that old machine. Not very interesting today but groundbreaking when it came out in 1979. The year I was born

I'm a fan of some artists who used it though (Jarre, Oldfield, Parsons, Gabriel, Trevor Rabin and Trevor Horn in Yes, Geoff Downes in Asia).

Yeah it looks terribly neat on stage or in a studio, and it can produce some very interesting sounds due to its low quality sampling. The IIx model is not even that expensive today... but good grief, they are BIG...

Fairlight CMI, some great electronic instrument, who made the best sounds of Zoolook (mostly! ) and of many other great albums (JMJ and others artists)!

A piece of History for sure....But now a weedy Machine in comparison to sampler options you have today...definetly confined to the Collectors closets only,...Wonder how many owners still utilise them in there recordings today???

A Milestone machine,but doesn't have any appeal to me,irrespective of who and when used it,Its not one of those machines that has been or would ever be on my wish list..

I'd still buy a CMI III when it's got a EUR0.99 pricetag on it

Roger Loubet also used it quite alot on the Michel Sardou album "Musulmanes" from 1987

Then again a CMI3 is off another league. It doesn't have the same character as its predecessors as its capable of sampling at CD quality.

I like Fairlight CMI (Also synklavier,Emu emulator and C64 SID ja Amigas paula soundchip) but i'dont own others than Amiga.

I like the Fairlight CMI, because it is the heart of the Zoolook-album
