Hi,
So after three weeks of waiting, I finally got my Elektron Machinedrum last night. It's a great piece of kit! Later today I'm gonna try it out with my Roland TD-3 and also update the OS.
Elektron IMO are the most innovative musical instrument manufacturer going at the moment. All the big names are just designing the same products but in different cases (Korg especially, how many synths share the same engines now?). Elektron meanwhile are producing top quality instruments that really are groundbreaking.

Yeah we had to pay them, mostly VAT so that the politicians leading this world can get fatter than they already are, hmph...

Anyways, it was worth it, I spent 2 hours solid playing with this and my Roland TD3 electronic drum kit, that's the most drumming I've done in one session for years. I'm processing my guitar with the effects now.

The OS update gives you so much more:
-"Control All" machine so that you can control every other machine from one knob turn, great for glitching out a pattern.
-Envelope filter machine for your input, very very much looking forward to this one.
-MIDI machines so you can turn the 16 step drum sequencer into a melodic 16 note sequencer

People may think £800 is overpriced, but Elektron really undersell it. It really isn't just a drum machine, I've got high quality delay/echo, reverb, compressor, EQ, envelope filter, a sequencer (that can not only digitally control the Machinedrum, but also analogue equipment by using the Impulse machine) and a bloody lovely metal box with knobs on.
