A fan from the french forum Aerozone went to the signing session @ Paris, and during an interview, this happened :

JMJ is now conscient that "Téo & Téa" had disconcerted his fans who had the habits of something more calm, as Oxygène (that's what he exactly told), but he only watned to make a album very rhythmic. He said it didn't mean he won't make music in this style (Oxygène's style). He will come back on his good old synths, of course, and much faster than we can expect

So, in there, is Jean Michel speaking about the 30th Anniversary of Oxygène we had already heard about ?
But anyway, this sounds really good !!

I suspected something like that, that the album was just a test, what people thought about that style...

The album might not be up to the highest standard that was expected but Vintage and Melancholic Rodeo is very very good. So not is all lost.

I'm very fond of Touch To Remember, Ok do it fast, Partners In Crime 1 & 2 - the rest is 'nice' at best...

Though T&T has some downsides, there are also positives with a handfull of really nice tracks (as pointed out already). It's not a pleasant time for any artist to see there work not meeting to the expectations of fans and followers. But that's the trials of life, you move on to the next chapter. Jean Michel knows this and is planning on doing something about it if the above comment is anything to go by.

Good on you JMJ, it's good to see that it hasn't put you off and that your ready to fight another day

A thing I really like about JM is that he at least tries something different.
It's a big plus to know that he doesn't shut his eyes but is open to try something different again...

To use artistic styles as a metaphor .... I think part of the problem was some people were expecting a grand, minimal, ethereal masterpiece ... but Jean Michel produced a piece of Pop Art ...

I think Oxy 7-13 was his last "great" album. I like all the rest after Oxy 7-13 but they just don't seem to have the same power as that one, or say Chronologie.
