I heard the same, but the 2x is SOLID, so the 2 must be a tank or something. I don't think you'll find any problems here. Only minus I have found on my 2x is that parameters are sometimes changing value after how the button is placed, which can make some problems when you recall patches. However this is said to be a problem on all Nordlead generations before NL3.

I can only say that I love mine. It is so easy to create the sound you want (for my case especially compared to the MK) but still very fun.

I think the 2X is a huge commercial success... Same as NL2, more memory (and maybe more polyphony?), and lower price than when the original came out... Someone corrects me if I'm wrong.

I almost bought one when I bought the Alesis ION. If the NL2X had been in stock, I'd have taken it.

Yes there were no major updates on the synths except for more polyphony and memory. The 2 and 2x have identical functions. Sine wave, distortion, ring mod and a notch+LP filter (band reject) were not present on the first generation. I am really happy about having all these new functions as I use them all.
