.... it has been going around my head for a while ( well, since a friend sent me an e-mail a few weeks ago ... )
If you had to describe yourself as or compare yourself to a Disney character.... say, from Winnie the Pooh , which one would you be ?
Pooh ?
Piglet?
Eyore?
Tigger?
Rabbit?

... just wondered ....
in my case, I'm somewhere between Piglet ( the eternal optimist ) and Eyore ( the eternal pessimist ).....

Hmm, I think Eyore, but it can be Tigger as well

I'd probably say Tigger!

I think I am someone between The Owl, Tigger and Pooh.
The Owl - I make things harder then they are and I really like hard words and such.
Tigger - I hate to finish stuff that I am right into, I don't know what to do with projects of life.
Pooh - I finally know how to live in the now, now. So I feel like I tend to become more and more like Pooh...
For those who want to, they can read the books "The Tao of Pooh" and The Te of Piglet" they are really awsome!

Why is everybody so obsessed by Winnie The Pooh nowadays??
I have a female working mate and she has been calling me "Pooh" for months.
I think it's because of my initials "P-O" it was an easily accessible word to use.
I don't know how to copy with this...this stupid cartoon bear is following me everywhere.
Soon I will have nightmares about this stupid bear.

I can understand how you feel but it’s not really Pooh’s fault that his name contains 2 of your initials.
Hope you have a nickname for your colleague.

Pooh is not stupid. It is the world arround him that is stupid. Someone is making himself smarter and uses too many fine words that no one understands (the Owl = maybe the law-system), someone is trying to be very sensible and having order everywere arround him (the Rabbit - The Government), Someone is too freekingly wild and can't stop what is started (Tigger - maybe media or some bureaucrat who bites you in the tail), someone who are so into being a good parent that they seems stupid at times (Kanga with Roo), someone who you are affraid of but never exist (The Heffalump - Todays anti terror laws made by USA)...and the list could go on.
Piglet is like the loyal friend who is a bit scared of all the things in the world. Christopher Robin is like the good parent that isn't arround you all the time and being so obsessed by doing the right things all the time to screw things up like Kanga does. And the forrest is just like the world it self, you easily get lost and anxious. But if you stay calm, try to live life as it comes and try to be more like Pooh you become stressed off and happy. So much wisdom there for kids that it overflows. But what makes me sick is that Disney is trying to make Pooh even more stupid and the things arround him more stupid, just like everyting else in the world that the media and USA is doing. And that there is a sence going arround to sell Pooh like everything else at McDonalds.
Sometimes I wonder if there was rules against the way things are made more stupid by MD, USA-media and stuff like that. They kill the good stuff from what is original and good.

I agree with you Leelane.
No way is Pooh stupid.
To say such a thing would be stupid.

No offence.

So no way I can be Pooh bear as stupid as I am.
It's hard to give my college a nick, because she have a quite unusual name and an asian marriage.
But she can call me Pooh...I think I have to get used to it.

Still I don't understand the fascination about the cartoon character but that's my weakness.
I also think that the swedish voice for him in the cartoon movies might have added a certain effect on me.
I think that Tigger is pretty funny though.

Just think that Pooh is a smart Carpe Diem bear, and that is not a bad thing to be called after. So just take it easy and try to imagine her as one of the charactors in the Pooh-books and hold that as a secret in your own world, not telling her it. That will make you feel so much better and she will still have the fun.

I guess you hit the head on the nail right there.
I have other aces up my sleeves to bewilder her with, but not too much...she's a nice fellow.
