EKO Computerhytm

Indeed the EKO Computerhythm. It's a drummachine that Jarre might have used it as for additional drums on Equinoxe IV. According to rumours, he had it modified to start/stop his analog sequencers one by one.
If you want to hear how it sounds, I strongly recommend an artist namned Ashra (a.k.a Manuel Göttsching). During the mid - late 70's he used the EKO Computerhythm on his albums as the only drummachine. http://www.ashra.com
Some faqs about the EKO:
* Made in Italy by guitar/organ manufacturer EKO. First batch came in 1972, second in 1975 and third/last in 1977.
Jarre's and Manuel's EKO Computerhythms are from the second batch. The other batches looks slightly different.
* They were custom made and EKO only made about 15-20 machines. 5-6 has been located these days.
I believe that there are more out there - Italy maybe? But they are mega rare!
Not even EKO knows anything about them today.
* The EKO Computerhythm was the first programmable drummachine - NOT the CR-78 as many site claims. You could even store your rhythms on punch cards to recall later on the machine.
* It had 12 sounds. 2 sounds shared one row of orange LED light buttons and 1 volume slider.
* No sync options from factory. But the majority of the known machines have been modified with clock in/out and also individual outs for the sounds.
* YES! There are samples avalible on a sample disc called "AKAI Dance Mega Drums vol1". You get 4 shots from every individual sound - except the triangle....*doh!*. Soundwise the EKO is pretty rough but still neat!
