Well, after a couple of weeks weighing up my options, to the disbelief of the wife (she's getting the whole house decorated with the rest of my savings, and a holiday), I have opted for the NEW Roland V-Synth GT. I have placed my order for one this morning and I think I had a pretty good deal - £1,695 (RRP £2,199) after much haggling. As there are non in this country as-of-yet being a new product, the earliest shipping will be mid June for mine. Damn, I'm excited

I was looking into the original V-Synth last year, even though I would have made a good saving, I would not have been happy with it as the GT appeals more to me, for not only sounds, performace and looks. I really hated the look of the silver plastic bezel around the V-Synth's screen. The GT however looks far better, and not to mention the colour screen.

Also, as you know, the GT is basically "2" V-Synths in one keyboard, V-Synth & V-Synth XT (with VC-1 Roland D50 card), with Rolands new AP (Articulative Phrase) synthesis, vocal designer, sound shaper II and Elastic Audio Synthesis engine, all built in.

Yeah, congrats! I'm not a huge lover of expensive synths though (mainly because I find they do too much and I don't have the money!) but I do like the look of this one!

Congratulations....Will look forward to a more indepth review once you get it,good price as well,I was gonna look at one but the price seemed a little expensive and I would have rather bought a Voyager for that price...but if you got it for just under 1700 thats a good deal..

I'll wait till the shops have one in and go and take a demo of it, I was pretty impressed with the original V synth,even though it passed almost un-noticed to me until last year,but the mk2 looks even more appealing

I've always been very interested in the V-synth, so I wanna check this one out. Here it's release is in June I thought. Congrats man! (and don't forget to post the demos!)

I've used the V-Synth Ver 2 as master synth for some time now and still
continues to amaze.

The Roland site says "shipping July" for the U.K, but I have just checked with 'Turnkey' (who I brough it from) and they're taking stock of it on the 18th June. So just over 2 weeks to go.

Hopefully, I should be receiving my GT this week. If it's still on schedule, they should be arriving in the U.K from Japan today.

Slightly OT - I remember cracking the pre-NAMM .swf teaser from Roland website - I extracted full resolution images and posted on motifator.com - it spreaded across synth forums within 3 minutes... ;]

Congrats on your purchase. It's good they kept the D50 engine - inital speculations suggested that it won't be available.
