What are your favourite?
I like the ones from "Requiem For A Dream", "The Piano", "Hair", "Brute"...I will write more if anything come up
And Maurice Jarre is quite a good composer, don't you think so?

admiring Maurice Jarre: only because of being JMJ's father, or do you really admire his music for wwhat it is?

Of course not only because of being JMJ's father...I like his music from "Doctor Zhivago", "Dead Poets' Society" and few other films.
He's just a good composer in my opinion

If Vangelis counts, he may be my favourite pick. Though his scores and soundtrack albums are specific in a way...
Otherwise my favourite one is Trevor Rabin. I love his style - not too conventional, a great blend of orchestral, electronic and guitar music.
I also admire Hans Zimmer. I've never managed to buy an album by him, but in the movies the scores are brilliant.

Too many to mention.
So here's one of the "less" known that I'm starting to enjoy a lot:
John Powell:
Bourne Identity / Bourne Supremacy being my favourites, altough "Payback" once again shows Powell's amazing gift for minimal in yer face electro sounds (that would neither work or be possible with a common orchestra) blended with a huge score (symphonic, of course), among many other soundtracks this author wrote and produced.
