I have 3 questions about the Concorde video (TV version):

1) has somebody a good quality version of this TV recording? Does it exist?
2) has this video only 48 minutes duration? Or is my version incomplete?
3) I always thought that the TV version was broadcasted live - but the tracks are the studio versions. Is there existing a real "live broadcast" video?

Can anybody help me?

1] Not AFAIK, 10 years ago we were very exited that even a bad copy surfaced.... We always assumed it was gone forever since in 1979 videorecorders were extremely rare.

2] Not sure about the duration, I have to check but maybe someone will beat me to it. I would not be surprised if it is that short...

3] It was broadcasted live, but JMJ wasn't playing live so I hope this answers your question. Also note that equinoxe 7 & 8 from the la concorde record are recorded after the concert so it "sounded live" and different from the record played at the concert....

Yes, indeed, there is only a 48 minutes video around, but on Vivement Dimanche show, they shown very good quality video clips of La Concorde, so I guess the INA has the record (as always...)

If I remember correctly, I never even got that video because it's probably one of the worst faked JMJ things ever. Like, the footage of him playing seemed like it was done in a studio et cetera. :|

Yes, but this is a video from JMJ, not a usermade fake :P
That one has been recorded on the Place De La Concorde and in his studio :punch:

Yes, you have to think about that for the official video, most recordings were recorded in a studio. It a shame as the real recordings seems to be very interesting, the quality is just crappy.

Yes, but as I said, the original video is owned by the INA, as well as AOR video...

At least it's not owned by Dreyfus. Cause it's more likely for him to start a career in North Korea than giving JMJ access to the righs of his own stuff. LAMF. :pwned:

Thanks to all guys here for your informations about the Concorde TV broadcast. But I'm a little bit confused: today I saw on the website of "La Cage" another TV version of that concert with 2 more tracks. Look at http://www.lacage.free.fr in the section "VHS Videos":

01. Equinoxe 1
02. Oxygene 1
03. Oxygene 2
04. Oxygene 5
05. Equinoxe 2
06. Equinoxe 3
07. Equinoxe 4
08. Equinoxe 8
09. Equinoxe 7
10. Equinoxe 4
11. Equinoxe 5
12. Oxygene 4

And this is the 10 track version (= 48 minutes) from Nico's database:

01 - Equinoxe I (3:53)
02 - Oxygène I (7:39)
03 - Oxygène II (1:37)
04 - Oxygène V (4:31)
05 - Equinoxe II (4:46)
06 - Equinoxe III (5:00)
07 - Equinoxe IV (6:39)
08 - Equinoxe VIII (5:03)
09 - Equinoxe VII (4:34)
10 - Equinoxe IV (3:37)

It seems that the last two tracks Equinoxe 5 and Oxygene 4 are missing in Nico's video. So the question is: has somebody here the 12 track version and how is the quality of that video? Or can somebody upload the last two tracks? Or the complete 12 track video? Many questions...

Yes but that's a colour version, the TV version is in black and white and has a lot more of JMJ actually playing.

No, that's not true. The TV version is also in colour, check out Nico's database. Great: the last 2 missing tracks Equinoxe 5 and Oxygene 4 are also in this database. I have found them in the section with the extracts ("Random Footage") - there the track "Equinoxe 5" contains also the last track Oxygene 4. Now the video is complete! :D :D

The TV version is in colour too (Paris, Bleu, Blanc, Rouge ;-))), and has 12 tracks.

Seams like you have an incomplete copy of even worse quality then....

The colour version I have isn't that good to watch either BTW, but then again, it's very old.

The fact it's B&W might also be because someone copied a SECAM tape on a PAL VCR though, just one possible reason it's now B&W and just a wild guess ofcourse...

I do have an excellent quality copy of the official vhs though, just one audio drop-out of less than a second during Oxygene 6. I thought I knew someone who said he had a pretty good quality copy of the TV version. Seems I've got to dig deep in my mail and msn history...
