It was not broadcasted live on TV, A video has been made from it and it was shown few months after the concert for the first time on France 2. Images of equinoxe 5 were used in equinoxe 4 (equi4 did not have fireworks during the concert for example) and some images of rendez-vous 4 were used in rendez-vous 2 (long distance shots right after the laserharp bit for example)
Few months after that an oficial video was released just before x-mas (france>SECAM)
Autumn 1991 saw the release of the PAL version most uf us have at home, minor change in that one is that the speeches were gone since they were in french and we didn't pardon jmj's french
All those versions don't have Equinoxe 5, Rendez-vous 4 and the first calypso played (calypso was played twice in fact), also a lot of tracks were edited, made shorter. good example is oxygene 4 wich misses a chorus, bridge & verse...
The only recording that includes those is the radio NRG recording and some amature video bootlegs.
Also, there's a few (around one dozen) laserdiscs around (same as VHS except for quality) Those Laserdiscs are the jarre-world equivelent of the holy grail, so far i've only seen one (Michel Geiss gave his copy away to someone once...)
Well, MFS is maybe a bit bigger on the holy grail scale, but you all know what I mean.
One nice fact about PLD, Patrick Rondat was in the audience watching
Almost 17 years ago allready... everytime I see the DVD I relive that concert, it was the best concert I've ever seen and probably ever will see...
