Was Perrier bullied out of the band?

Christopher Papendieck looks like he's playing one nifty guitar solo over SOC at the Moscow concert, but in fact it's Perrier who plays this part and Papendieck is just pretending he's playing Perrier's part. That's really evil!

Maybe that's why Perrier left the band! :shock:

What the **** are you talking about. How did you find out that it was a Perrier solo?

Well maybe it was Rimbert, but it was definately not Papendieck, because he plays that bass solo, watch closely... ;)

Jean-Michel Jarre also manages to play every blessed track and instrument, and plus something we don't know what it is that he is playing and we can't hear but must be there somewhere...

...and the man just can't stop playing everything and more... he presses every key note that moves (actually, that doesn't, but you get my drift).

Perrier's solo's rule bigtime... easy to spot, I'd say, lots of smart portamentos and glissandos exactly where they should be, blues passing-notes techniques on melodic scales - sounds very high tech.

Perriers Solo's also have a somewhat "eastern" feel to them,
resembling somewhat solos on Indian Ragas or Arabic music.
Something John Coltrane later incorporated into his solos
as did guitarist John McLaughlin.

In Docklands, DP's head gear & shape of notes on his keyboard (curved sabre)
might give a clue as to his direction & influences.

Docklands/Revolutions was influenced by Arabic music in general... I don't consider DP's solos as oriental or something... :roll:

Its the way he uses "microtones" aka portamentos.
Thus the similarity also to jazz & blues.

The Chinese came up with lots of stuff. :wink:

Some notable Jazz & Blues musicians have noted the similarity between say
Indian Ragas & improvisation & jazz & blues improvisation / playing.

DP' solos thus resemble both ... somewhat.

Actually, jazz did came from the west long before hitting New Orleans... 8-)

(Wait patiently for the music history subject in conservatory... not that it matters that much though -pure mambo-jambo free hardcore jazz is mostly pentatonic or atonal in nature, to give an idea)
