Actually,

I've been very carefull since a recent bad buying experience with a Maserati 3200 GT (bloody engine light always turning on and mega-sensitive gas pedal), 50 000 € down the drain...

I may however be getting a 850ci (BMW) I tested drive the day before my birthday... 6 manual, tuned enough to nod to 60 mph/100 khh in about 4 secs and going all the way up to around 310 kmh... in mega-confort (though I miss 4x4 visco traction, I'm not a rear drive only hardcore fan), but no agility, a Cooper-S will/would whoop my rear end in a curvy track, but I'd disappear showing off a red trail from the tail lights hyper-space mode in the first long straight that came along... ;-)

As for Lambos, I do miss the Murci a lot (and the earlier Diablo), and as soon as the rain stops here (it's been plenty), I may start flirting with a Gallardo Spyder... may. I find it too expensive for it's (driving pleisure) worth, and I'm not in it just for the view/image, which is outstanding, but it's starting to feel like a Porsche - so then, the automobiles used market may be my option IF the Gallardo prooves reliable - and the BMW's confort does not take the better out of me and turns me into a patiente filled joyfull non-racing grand-tourer finally meeting the "love" joyride of my life (best compromise).

The Murcielago is an experience worth every penny and drop of sweat - it's ment to be driven very hard, tire you all up to exaustion and make you wake up wanting more... but I'm not willing to wave away 300 grand at the moment just for sunday cruising in private roads (cops, radars, photo resolution at higher speeds and rain have increased considerably). 8) Besides, the Maser is still taking garage space, which I'll need for the BMW, probably (there's also an Honda HR-V there - well not tecnically there, diferent houses - it's my city/daily car, that does 0-100 in around little more than 6 secs).

It's not the "32" years old factor, I can still rip-off the sealing of a Ferrari F430 with the wind blowing the clutch at the same time, it's just that there's not that much "room" in Portugal/Europe for the time being (though gas price still hasn't bothered me) to indulge myself with the usual "it's not driving fast, it's flying low" experienced focused fun.

Long post, I'm getting back in shape. :-)
New site too, being worked on, and soon to be filled with tons of free music.

Kind Regards,
AMR

just to drift offtopic a little too.... the 850 series by BMW was and still is one of my fave cars.... they're quite "cheap" now (compared to initial prices back in 1988 or 1989). I was out of my mind to read once in 1990, that the M8 was only a prototype and not being built by the 100's
