Yep, as you have guessed it, I love this competition. So full of glamour, songs, clothes scandals and all this just for fun...I have became a little maniac about this. I love almost all of the winning songs from my country (even though I don't really like Carola).

This year the Contest will come to Helsinki and Finland for the first time ever, and I must say that I am proud on their behalf. Hard Rock Halelujah was just an absolutely great song and such a performance.

The Contest is well over 50 years old and have gained more lovers then haters, and I am not underestimate when I say that this is the thing that have made the biggest sucess in bringing Europe closer together.

So this thread is all about this years Contest and about the Contest in general. Talk ahead if you please!

I don't think it's as popular as it was in the 70's/80's.

Also... back in those days we (Danes) only had one national tv channel, and everyone was watching the same things. I remember we all talked about the Euro Song Contest in school on Mondays, after the show on Saturdays. I don't think that's the case these days.

The national semi-finals here in Sweden are watched by well arround or over 3 milion people and that is 1/3 of the whole population over here...
