Hi folks,

Did anyone compare the strings of these machines?
The advantage of the Solina is its size and weight, but I'd like to know if the Eminent's ones are different and, in some way, better than Solina's (or viceversa).
I have read that on the Eminent 310U attack and release are always fixed while on the Solina they can be adjusted.

Personally I prefer the E310 SE its more of a mellow tone,whereas the Solina SE machine seems to be more of a raw Buzzier waveform and a little Harsh Being both Made by Eminent you would of thought they would be Identical,but to my ears there not and i definetly prefer the tone of the e310,and thats not just because I own one,to me there is a softer edge tothe Eminent,but add the SS phaser on either and you'll get the same source sound in effect

The attack and Release are fixed,although you do get a slight control over the Release phase in that its called a "Sustain" on the Eminent 310(Equinoxe 1 strings use the Sustain option)you can play the Sustain on its own or add it to the 4 and 8 Footage selection buttons to add a releases phase to them,which just holds the note with a tail as such like a fade after the note off(Kind of like Release Phase of an Amp EG on a synth),to me its not actually a sustain but more of a longer released version as if you were playing the 8 and 4 options as it double ups over the waveforms when you select the sustain as well as the Footing, (you have no actual control over the length of Amplitude on the sustain)its basically on or off using the Sustain,i would say the E310 Sustain is around 75% of a standard Release phase on a synth when its on and thats all you get

Essentially the Solina has more control over its sound taking more of a Synthesizers parameters,so i guess you have the ability to alter the A/R phase manually

Speaking about String Synths, I like the sound of the Roland RS202... Used by Tony Banks (genesis) and Mike Oldfield, I think.

I'd like to have the RS202, or an ARP Solina. They both sound really nice

The big advantage of ARP solina is ADSR and disadvantages? fuzzy growly waveform and... ONLY ONE MANUAL

There's also a String Synthesizer, folks.

But I were to choose between the Solina and the 310, it would definately be the latter. But then again, I don't have to choose, cause I already own one

They sound like heaven both of them. They're different in the sound so why bother to choose. Get both!

You'd better first look if you have the room for both
