Roland D 550 question (maybe a silly one)

Hi girls and guys!
I've often read that the "Machine Run" sound is a preset of the D50/D550 - but is it really a preset/factory sound? Thanks a lot.

Yes it is. JMJ slightly modified the patch when he used it on the Revolutions album, though.

D50, don't know about the D550 rack though.
On other models there's a slight lower quality similar patch called "Iron Works", I think.

I don't know - I had it on mine from the very first start. It's called Machine Run...

That's however somewhat mysterious, because I also have the Roland PN D50-00 ROM-card with the original factory presets of the D50/D550 and on it there isn't this patch...

Yes, indeed there are other ROM cards (4 afaik) and I also have two others... don't know whether it's on one of them (not on the two others I have)...

there were dozens of banks for the d50/550....
I don't remember were was the machin run patch, but yes you can download it on my website.
This patch is not so far from the original one ! jmj only cut the second part of the sound.
You can hear this part in the end of the revolution overture (krshhhhhhh !!!)

All wrong
There is no preset called Machine Run...
Try with FACTORY patch LOOP10
To get this matallic beat use 2 loop10's but the second one should be octave lower
btw i have many pn-d50 cards and there is no preset called machine run

There were several patches called Machine Run but almost all were wrong... Some of them were with some noisy noops, some were a bit detuned i mean the (for example) upper octave was detuned so if you had played this sequence longer you could hear some mistakes in sync...
heres mine patch... use flanger to get more powerful sound
