It is dictature! Police did / started this after provocated people! "Correct" people, who was celebrated anniversary of 1956 revolution, was also attacked by police!
If you want to know my opinion : it is not democracy!!!

Just shows how fragile those countries still are
However, I have to say that I don't give any respect to non-peaceful demonstrators. I wouldn't mind unleashing some hits on that scum.
This of course when the nation isn't that bad by default. Like, few weeks back in Finland, Göteborg in 2001...
Blah, whatever.
I'll just blow a few A-bombs in Red Alert or DEFCON. Screw world politics!

Not on the other hand, we celebrated a revolution yesterday, which was not succesful for us and then we must have been quiet for decades!
It was a concidence that ex-communist prime monister's speech released one month ago, in which he acknowledged the COMMUNIST government has been lying for years!
AND NOW THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT DEMOCRACY!!! LOOL It is like 1956!! The government MUST GO!
WE WANT REAL DEMOCRACY!!!!

Of course there were non-peaceful demonstrators too! But police - the power - the state started provocation due to ex - communist (brutal) "captain" of Budapest!
Look ! This is not real democracy from 2002, after return of ex-communists, they got succes by lies back in 2002.
And now in 2006 also!

I completely agree with you Robbie... it's a mess over there, and it's absurd. I truly hope the peace will return soon and you will have proper democracy again...

But Gothenburg was worsen by the fact that FBI was working with Swedish police behind the curtains so that Geroge W. Bush could walk arround without hearing the demonstrations. And when the police at the same time the Air Force One landed on Landvetter airport built an wall arround the school where the peacefull demonstators were living. And then you are ecepting that the others of the demonstrators shall be calm and take this as a good democratic way of handeling things? And when 60 young people get 2 years or maybe up to 3 years in jail for just throwing a chair from the street were it was in the way for people to walk by. Or for just saying no to over use of violence from the police. Is this good democracy?

That doesn't remove the fact that asshole demonstrators exist and it doesn't have anything to do with FBI being involved in any way.

don't call demonstrators assholes. they are perfectly human beings just like you and I. And in a democracy the right to demonstrate is just one way of being a better democracy. Even if things go wrong.

Demonstrators can often act unreasonable, indeed.

I'm calling non-peaceful demonstrators assholes. I'm all for peaceful demonstration, even though I don't usually care about that either, but when things go way over that... geez!
