Non working Prophet 5 (Rev 2)

So far it's sitting at £410 - surely this price is not right

I don't want a Prophet Rev2 at all - unless they're really low priced...

£300 is about the money in the UK, even as spares they can be expensive.

But maybe it's because I'm not that interested in a non working Prophet 5 and have no idea how much it would cost and how long it would take to make it work.

A Prophet5 is always good looking in a studio, even if it doesn't work

I don't think I could set any price, it depends on what is wrong. Some parts are probably hard to find and repair.

You could better search for a working/not working rev3. They're much more stable than 1 and 2 and don't detune as fast. For a working, pay 700, for a not working 100/150.

I hate non-working synths. Repairing them drives me crazy

It's about what the problem is. I like to repair non working keys (for my own synth, but also for others). But difficult problems are indeed not funny.

For a working Rev2? Mind you that Rev3's are a very common find and have curtis chips in stead of ssm chips which are considered warmer. No way you would find any prophet5 for 700 euros, also because of it's cultstatus. 1200/1500+ is more likely

I was going to bid on this P5, that was 3 days ago when it was well under £100. For that price it would have been a good buy, and with some patience, waiting and looking for parts would have been worth while. But with the price suddenly over £700 and by what you guys have said, seems someone has more money than sense.

Prophet 5's are very hard to find and one that is not working can be fixed. This is a website that has parts and the original factory sounds for the prophet 5. Jean Michel Jarre had 1 in his aero concert. It was used as a midi controller.Any Sequential Circuits gear is worth having

Yes, that's true. But those chips are pretty unstable. But indeed, they're a bit more expensive . Though, I would buy a Rev3 instead of a rev2.
