Soon I will need a two tier keyboardstand.

The Quicklok QL642

Is just perfect for what I am looking for. I have only heard good things about the brand, sadly I can't find any shops in my country where they sell it. That system with a second tier on an X stand is pretty hard to find here.

Do you know any music shops in your country with an online 'selling to other countries' system, who sell this system?

Usually they can order it. They may not have it in stock, but should be able to order it, just ask. Quiklok is a VERY common brand for this kind of stuff. I have the stand you're looking for, works just fine

i use similar triple stand, but i need to put sth under back "legs"

TURNKEY here in the UK has a large selection of Quicklok stands, and they ship overseas - they have that 2 tier your looking for.

I've gone off Quiklok Stands,they were my first preference for stands,but since having got a secondhand Apex AX48 with Mic boom for an Unbeleivable £25 i wouldnt settle for anything less...


I quite prefer them(apex),although the Only downside is you can't tilt the Apex tiers,but you can alter the height and more so than a Quiklok which seem to only have about 4 fixed positions on locking pins,whereas the Apexs can be set anywhere up or down the column... they are also far less bulky taking up less floor space and look far more classy,(Someone posted on another thread about stands about not enough room for Pedals,Not had an problems with mine),so I 'm looking at buying another 1 or 2 to replace my existing Quikloks,,the Quikloks are quite unstable when you bagning away on 3 or so tiers,plus they don't compensate for the overhang of 3 tiers and are prone to topple if your not careful.whereas the Apex slant back giving you total support,so the Centre of gravity is always fixed irrespective of what size Keyboards you use, there so much easy for gigging too,as the column acts as a storage area for the Tiers and plus the legs fold up into the Bottom of the column so all you have is one tube to carry,and of course the Column has a carrying handle attached...

BONNERS MUSIC have a nice range of those Apex stands, the cheapest on their site comes in at £80 for a 2 tier set-up.

Although new they are quite pricey...coming in at about £140

I always liked this kind of stands because they looked more classy as you pointed out, but I was afraid they were a little unstable, prone to vibrations. Do you think that the Apex stands are more "solid"?
Have you tried with keyboards of a similar weight? (with a heavy keyboard in the lower place the stand doesn't "oscillate" if it has good legs)

I am not fan of the "quiklok" type stands, because of the arms holding the upper keyboard that may easily interfere with the lower keyboard, if it's deep, being in front of the outs or the PSU socket (or both as it happens to me at a playable height!)

I like this 90's style aluminium stand (the picture is from a shop)



You can freely choose the height and can tilt the tiers as you like.
It's light and have a lot of room under the keyboards.
The downside is that it's large unless you cut the horizontal tubulars

I have something similar to that Quiklok 2-tier one. It's been fine for years now, and serves me well :p

I used to have one of those A frames also,but it was too wide for my applications when i moved into my studio room i have now,(Which i didn't have so many devices/Synths back then)

It was great for holding keys as well as racks,i bought a couple of extra Tiers for it too,To hold my drum machines i was using,it also was great for holding my Atari st,and most of my setup back fitted onto the A frame.....

I would have another one of those if i had more room to house a few of my keyboards that are not sitting on stands at the moment but stood around the studio

I sold my A frame earlier this year,I don't miss it,but it was useful....they're very lightweight being aluminium and are quite sturdy even with 3 Main synths on,the one i had only allowed up to 76 note synths...

I've never used one on stage as it was always too bulky and fiddly to put together after being broken down and they are not really designed to be dismantled at speed plus it took up quite a lot of room in the Vanwith the other gear as i didnt have a carry case for it,so it was far easier to use the QL stands as they assemble together in next to no time





And no i don't use a slide Rope ...LOL there is a gap between the Raven and the Trinity which although the pics don't really show it is adequate for me to get in there,I like to have my gear easily accesible,helps productivity...

Oh if anyone interested in those A frames or any other Keyboard subframes....


I got my A frame from here.....they also have some very useful Studio workstation setups in the "Studio Systems" section i almost bought the recording station 150,but decided on an Aframe

You can also buy additional piping/Fixings for the Aframe or other systems so you can more or less create your own setup/Configuration...

I severely dislike the look of those A-stands. UUGH

I have a Quik Lok QLX22 (2tier) plus a mic boom... Very happy with it, but I needed to tweak it cause the mic boom was in front of the main outputs! But it's very tweakable and once you've found the right angles, there's a system which lets you set it up very easily in the same positions.

Quiklok now sell (with their newer stands as standard) a small washer which acts as a memory positioning band around the tubing,you simply set your additiona tiers up how you want them ,then tighten this band aligned with the tier(which has a notch so it slots in place with the Tier arms),you then leave this washer on the tubing tightened up wit hthe Allen Key so it doesnt move,then after you have dismantled the stand and twisted the tiers so it folds ,when you put it together again you no longer have to keep worrying about lining up the tiers correctly as notch on the tier will slide back into the cut out of the washer...Simple idea really...why they never thought of it years ago...

Very good idea indeed. And the stand is very sturdy... It can easily support my own weight (well I only weigh 64 kg anyway but it's still more than most synths).

The only thing I have to say about stands is... I can't stand them

I hate gravity... majority is unstable and I'm scared to death the whole contraption will fall over...

Besides... anyone seen a stand for a 2600??? so...

I'll use something with 4 legs... stable..
