Not really earth shattering news I know, but I found this interesting.

While browsing today I found one of the new and improved lower end of the range PSR keyboards from YAMAHA with some improvements that will bound to please many new to music, and at affordable price.

The new PSR-E403 not only looks like the previous PSR range that has been avaible to purchase the past couple of years, but it has now been given the basic 'synth' treatment with a 50 type Arpeggiator and assign knobs and filters - I think this could be a funky piece of kit for a good price.

From what I can find, its retailing for £160.00

Never been a fan of the PSR's. I prefer real synth power.

For that price you can have a D50 OMGz

I didn't say 'get one', just thought people may be interested.

Many people who started to play keyboards or learn at home had a PSR at some stage or other. The machines are not that bad. Some fun can be had on these. But its a keyboard and not a synth, so I dont see the point of comparing it with a D50 when they are two totally differant machines all togther.

Ok, For that price I would buy a XP60, or I would save some more money and buy a '80. Also GM sounds, but also a good synth.

No one can blame it to look awfull at least. I think it looks wonderful in its design!

Yes, that's the point. All that has speakers looks a bit amateuristic. And I don't like yamaha samples. I prefer Roland.

Well - you can't deny it's excellent for working out sketches and songwriting and that type of thing... I don't hate them to be honest, they are at least good for this purpose...

I NEED a good PSR for my keyboard exams.
