Sorry for my weak English explanation!
Waiting for YouTube melting completely with Google Video, with better quality, there is a nice simple trick to obtain a better image: to add &fmt=18 after the URL of the YouTube's video.
If available in the servers, you will obtain a 480x360 pixel mp4 video, more than 2 times the standard 320x240!
Under the video, you'll find also a new icon to change the video quality. A small anticipation of the future of the videos online.
(There is also rumours about YouTube allowing upload of HD videos in the near future, but this is another history...)
In fact, the flash plugin can play directly .mp4 videos and that hidden .mp4 video version is the same intercepted by a video downloader website like http://keepvid.com

Stop the blah blah now! A simple example is better: :peacemaan:
Look at the classic pigeons video:

And now the higher quality:

Christophe - Les Mots Bleus

It might sound horrible, but I don't know why I just love this version, seems so deep...

Not sure how to respond to this but...

Youtube vids are 415x318 (355) including controls by default, not 320x240 to begin with...

They are never mp4 but flv files...

So far I haven't been able to see the difference anyway TBH...

Ciao Anti!
I'm not so fond in YouTube videos but... did you try my links? Or download the videos with keepvid.com?
The first is a 1,63 MB .flv file with resolution 320x240. Very blurred.
The second is a 3,06 MB .mp4 file with resolution 480x360. Well defined pidgeons!
Also the mp4 version is usually in stereo.

Try the trick with the mercurey new album video: the second one is in stereo.
http://www.mercurey.nl/ -->
--> flv video 320x256 , audio MP3 mono 22 KHz
--> mp4 video 450x360, audio AAC stereo 44,1 KHz.

Edit: With the "&fmt=18" add to the url, you'll find the .mp4 version in the browser's cache, not the .flv version!
