I think the Guy who restored it is quite disillusioned about the device,he probably got the thing cheaply and thinking if he restored it would be quite desirable and perhaps make him a nice profit.

No matter how big a Jarre fan you are,why the hell would you want this anyway even if you had the Money to buy it,Its simply a stage Prop no matter how futuristic or cool it may look now,its nothing of any use that is worth that amount of money

You could more than likely commision somebody to make a copy of it for less than Half the cost he's looking to sell it for,the only redeeming Aspect of it,is that Jarre' put his hands on .

Still a good use for it.....

If it was the semi-circular thing with actually working keys, I would severely covet it... question is if it's interesting enough for JMJ to own. The houston/lyon thing I mean.

Why would he want to have a set of light switches in a fancy (but oversized) case?

I would pay good money for the LAG Insect,A truly unique,one off and quirky Midi controller strap on(Wonder if Jarre still has this)

A prop it may be, but it's an iconic prop at that. It's "not what it can do", its more of a "what it once was". I wouldn't say no to it if someone offered it to me.

If I had plenty of space it would be a nice item, but still not at this price.

The only reason someone would have that is to make a nice Profit,why else did the guy restore it???If he was a dedicated fan surely he'd keep it,I know I would if I restored it to its former glory and got it for little or no money as a fan its a one off unique item why else would you sell it other than to try and make money but he needs to be more realistic.

The funny thing is there's most likely a few JMJ fans out there, perhaps visiting the board who would buy it....and I think we know the types! I bet there's a few people out there who have stood in their bedroom miming along to Rendez-vous 2, pretending to play the Laser Harp!

Certainly after 1993, I knew FOUR Jarre fans who couldn't play a keyboard who bought a Roland AX1. So you just know that hours were spent in front of the mirror waving the AX1 around to Chronologie 4.

Just imagine if those guys could get a replica of the 86 Magic Keyboard, let alone the actual one built for the performances...and all they had to do was plug it into a wall socket and it would light up when they touched those keys! It doesn't take a great leap of imagination to see those guys in their darkened garage with an almost orgasmic look upon their faces as they blare out Equinoxe 5 and dream of being Mr Jarre....DAMN, now there's an image I wouldn't want to see in real life....or in the mirror!!!

Yes one of them is called Jean-Michel Jarre except he stood on stage though not in his bedroom

After seeing Jarre at London during EIC, I went out and bought a AX1. Still got it too this day, hanging up on the wall

As for the Laser Harp. . . . . . . Nope, I have never purchased 10 laser spirit levels used for DIY work, mounted them in a board, turned them on and mimed along to the RV2
