I mean, i dont believe that we´re talking about the Equinoxe4 sequence which is being programmed, but it smells a -bit- like this one. -Maybe- if two pins are set at the same time inside the "key"-holes, the 2nd pin defines the octave. But that would also mean that the Keys doesn´t go from low to high (1...12), possibly from 12....1.
Stef
Musically you program from a base note. Let's assume a C. Seen the number of pins at the lowest row of all available sequences it's logical to assume that must be the 'C'... then if you calculate further the upper row must be a 'B' then... that's why I assume it goes from low to high.
and now.... bedtime!!!

Lemme kalkulate...
Stef
Then it will never progress beond the first loop pin... and that's clearly not the case...
J.
Of course not. Maybe it is a "loop" inside the loop. It reaches the first loop pin, repeats the first two/three notes, jumps over that to the next loop point, resets then the "override" on the first loop point and jumps -after- a 2nd repeat of the 2nd loop point outside this loop sequence.

Never. I go -then- to bed if i found out what´s that all about. Before that i cannot sleep.
Good night

Ow yeah!! I thought about that possibillity too that would be GREAT! However... that would involve a lot of extra logic. It could be but Geiss is probably the only person who can tell us that...

..and if he would answer is another question...unfortunaly.....was that "2*50 or 1*100 notes"-thing, which is mostly known, -fact- or only a assumption?

Fact. I'ts mentioned by Geiss and Jarre in several interviews.
Anyone matches for my eye-lids?

Ok. It can hold up to 100 notes, but -how- they´re being played, is another question....
I didn´t programmed now the entire sequence, but listen to several tries i´ve done to the third loop point. Anything familiar to you? And the last try is reserved for me!!! I use it for a own Track!!! Coz it sound kool!

The last two parts were made with some note feedback to get a bit "swing" into the sequence. I´ve switched the notes once to 1....12 and then 12...1. But the last part reminds me on something, i on´t knwo what. But i´m sure i´ve heard this mello somewhere else.
Ok, i also go to bed now. I´ll drink a little glass of wine *FUUUD OLRAIGHT?* and then i also go to bed.

And something for good sleeping:

(C) me. Definitive and entirely and complete and tralala. But my BMG (Brain Mello Generator) sucks at the moment. And it is looong not finished. But it is something different, that´s important.

Don´t know, it was simply an Idea from me. I´ll finish it as soon as i have a better Idea for the main part.

Update...

The GFX has had another update... almost all controls have been replaced and actually work
I just need to find a good picture of the 3 humonguous antique extra bold silver switches.....
I'm convinced we think too much in ultra high advanced stuff while it should be really simply for a person like JMJ... (I mean Michel had to give lessons to JMJ before JMJ could operate the 2600!)... So, my final decision on the 2 rows (the ones I've been calling routing all along) is simply 'gate'. Gale L or Gate R or no gate...that explains why there are no pins on the right side in 2x50 mode... Also the BCD-switches are the divider for the external (midi)-clock now...as Stef proposed.. '00' will be internal clock >0 external midi divided by the number on the BCD switches.....(03 = 1/32, 06 = 1/16 ... 96 = 1/1)
The 'COMmon STEP' switch will be the 1x100 or 2x50 mode switch. 'STOP RET(urn)' is a bit vague :S... where to stop and where to return ? It looks like a moment-push switch for the 'STOP' and a toggle-switch for the 'RETurn'... I miss one button on the GMS...where is 'START' ????
As for the looping theory... I think Stef is right... it's just tricky for me to progam it with simple TTL...I also have to think about how to skip an already played loop... I'm also going to assume the loop is being looped once...(play to loop point, return to previous loop point, play again and continue...
I also get the feeling left and right are separated.. aka can step on their own in sync with the master clock ofcource.. for example left starts at 1 and right on 8...
Also Stef... what software did you use to create the GMS ??? It looks like some electronics program... I still use Multisim...

Are you sure 'bout that? I mean - JMJ learned to use the Moog Modular at Schaeffers place without too much help in about a month...

Geiss was giving lessons to JMJ how to operate 2600?? I tought that JMJ met Geiss when he was finishing his Oxygene album... When the material was almost finished? hmm
