as for the sysex compatability,

jd800 to jd990 is no problem.
jd990 to jd800 is not possible due to a slight change in the engine (some more features such as ring mod etc.)

I have a Jd-990 with vintage card, that's a very good choice Nico.

290 € is a good deal, do not hesitate.

When all is going well , I will buy my first 'Jarre' synth this week , a roland JD-990 with vintage expansion card .
