What are your 2 boxes under your MK and the box under these 2 boxes ? And it seems to be an organ in front of your window, no ?

He, you don't even have to walk on the cables.

I hate cable mess...nothing more annoying in a studio than cables everywhere in site,So thats why i built my own custom setup to hide (most of it)and so that i keep everything tidy in its place,everything is also labelled up so if anything goes wrong with any cable i can trakc down the offending cable in no time without having to dismantle a spaghetti mess of cables...


Also helps to have everything routed to Patchbays,especially in my studio As i have a lot of different audio Routings to various In/outs on the gear,and to keep changing the configuration without a Patchbay would be rather annoying,means i can keep everything static and route anything to anywhere in the studio using a few patch cords on the Patchbay,also helps having a Midi Patchbay too...


I'll probably Never see it in my lifetime,but i hope one day someone will invent a totally cable free Audio/Midi/USB Solution....

Don't you like Modular synths? I like cables IF I don't break my neck over it, and they don't discomfort the playing.

Yes....I like Modulars(although dont actually own any as such)


I'm talking about studio cables in general(mains/Audio leads),nothing wrong with patch cords on a modular or a patchbay area as they tend to be within the Viccinity of the synth/Patchrouting (depending on how many modulars you have they look quite inspiring)I meant i hate the typical cable runs around the workarea,especially if you have a lot of equipment... Like you say the type of mess that would discomfort you or likely cause an accident the sort of cables that dont really need to be visible,

Ok, it was the ES and EM I had forgotten, I knew that it might be EA-1 and ER-1. I have started to like the drum or rhythm models. They have just about the features I need.

There great fun....I've got a ER-1 MK1 and Mk2 plus an EA-1 and an EMX,I'd reccomend them to anyone,


If you have ever used any of the TR rolands,you'd get the jist of how they work,pretty easy enough to use and create your own patterns,the sounds on the ER are easy to maniuplate and create your own(on the 4 synth drum sounds) you can shape the sounds to how you want,most of them are 808/909 type emulations but theres som credible blips and bleeps perfect for Jarre type tracks.. plus you can also route audio into the patterns as well(great for gated pads along with the Drums)I even use the ER to create my own patterns using the sequencer them use the Midi out to trigger more traditional sounds too on my other synths,given that there so damn easy to create rhythms on...

I've used the ER both live and studio,and it works equally as well in both,theres plenty of scope for improvisation in terms of changing sounds and creating different patterns using the 16 pads to add or minus the parts as you go thru the tracks..you also have Mute and solo functions too...

I have the EA but rarely use it,its more of a 303 clone and is good for your acid bass/Leads,...

My favourite of the electribes is the MX....this machine is bad.....probably the best of the crop...its basically like an ER/EA and MS2000 rolled into a self contained workstation/Groovebox,it uses MMT to model sounds plus you have PCM waveforms as well(some triton stock sounds in there) plenty of parameters for tweaking your own sounds and also this has the audio input as well for processing external audio......

If your thinking of getting any of the Electribes.........What are you waiting for???

Dont be put off by thinking there just for the dance fraternity due to the Preset loops etc,but i don't really do much dance tracks,and there as equally at home in your standard electronic music.....
