Oxygene 3 kick drum is the EKO, decrease by about -6db in the sub 125Hz, adjust the rest to taste. Also put it through a Small stone at very slow phase, no color.
The phasing effect can be heard on O3, some of the kicks don't sound as phat as the rest.
For Equinoxe 4:
Take Korg Rhythm 55 kick drum and pitch it down 3 semitones to the key of A.
Secondly take CR-78 kick drum, don't pitch it - it remains in the key if C, but ever so slightly play with 125Hz on the eq.
Lowpass filter for kicks at around 6kHz.
Play around with the 50, 62, 80 and 100Hz on the eq and the 2kHz and above frequencies to achieve that spacific 70's thinness and warmth.
Both kicks play thoughout the song together.

We know know that for E4.
For O3 I don't think so, it's like being given 20 minutes to reach the top of Mount Everest and a choice of climbing or a helicopter.
I'm sure Jarre choose the helicopter, ie something he already had and ready to go.
Not to mention that the EKO's kick drum is a dead ringer.
Geiss wasn't there for the first half anyway.

Sure, but if I found something that sounded better than the combo I mentioned above I would've written about it. I haven't so far.
Both the EKO and MP7 BDs aren't bright enough and their character is way off from Eq4.

I dunno if this is news to anybody, but some interesting notes from the 1973 TD album, Green Desert.
Notes
Back in summer 1973 Peter Baumann had left Berlin to travel in Nepal and India, so TD were reduced to the duo Edgar Froese and Chris Franke. Virgin Records in London were impressed by the burgeoning following of the group and wanted to sign them up. In Peter Baumann's absence, Edgar Froese and Chris Franke entered the Skyline Studios in Berlin to record Green Desert, using such devices as a rhythm controller and phaser along with the usual synthesisers and keyboards. As Chris Franke remembers: "The rhythm controller came from Italy and looked like something from science fiction with its console of 128 buttons which all lit up. It could be programmed, it was analogue and it was polyphonic! The lights blinked, I had hands on control and later I used it as a sequencer to trigger other synthesizers."
Chris is of course referring to the EKO Computerhythm.
Evidence that a sequencer was used for Oxygene?
