First rule of buying ANYTHING..........
Never willingly pay the stores asking price.......Badger them for a discount...most stores CAN give you a discount,(even with secondhand dealers too)
I have never bought anything at the store price or list price and will insist on a discount if they want me to part with my money....
Most of the Main music retailers in the UK can pricematch each other,but you can always get them down a little more if your cheeky enough to keep pestering them,I saved almost £200 on my Korg Triton Extreme just by keeping on at the salesguy...
I told him I have the money to buy now whats the best (real ) price he can do it for me,after knocking 100 off I said you can do better than that,but he kept giving me some crap about not being able to,told him I'm gonna be buying one today,whether it was here or somewhere else,asked to speak to the Manager and ended up with the £200 off....Bartering pays off...Dont let some "It will come out of my commision" or "thats the best deal around mate" banter put you off....They make a profit margin on most things regardless,and most of the big retailers make even more due to buying power in bulk discounts
and I've saved myself a heap of cash in the past with other gear too...(Also helps if your a regular there too...I 'm pretty much part of the shops fixings where i buy!!!)
Never pay the Asking price...If you can't get a discount go somewhere else,some shops will give you a discount just so they can move stock even if it means maybe a loss for them...
