Yes there were even two of them.

I'll do a demo of some of the sounds soon....I'm Cleaning it up so i wont be able to use it for a day or two,due to dissambling it etc.

I'll have a little more indepth look into the Presets..see if i can hear anything of distinction that Jarre might have used...I've only been playing around with the performance mode,so there may well be some Programs hidden in the synth that he used..

Ok Given some of the Noises on the Onboard Patterns,I'm convinced that Jarre used the Raven heavily on Oxygene 10 for some of the Robotic type noises and drums and also on Oxygene 12 for the Triplet/Delay snare type sound and also the Machine gun sound....

I've just been going through the Onboard patterns and theres more than a passing resemblance to some tracks on Oxygene 7-13,when i have chance i will record some of them to make your own mind up....

First impressions are that Jarre used far more of the Raven on 07-13 than just the Choir for part 7....I'm convined that he got inspiration for tracks 10/11/12 from the Ravens patterns,and judging by the Ravens pattern (8 track) sequencer think he could have composed part 10 on the Raven alone(except for the Lead Brass sound which was off one of his rolands i think)


When you hear the patterns in the Raven and then compare it to 0xygene 10,you could also believe that Oxygene 10 was an onboard Demo for the Raven given the Timbral and Elements Likeness....

Raven is prob one of the few hw synths I had considered buying, since I went fully software.

At £150 incl expansion board .... WHAT a price !

Equin(00)xe that sounds very interesting Did you find that synth sequence that was used between the leads in Oxygene 10? damn I like that sound, and I have never found out where it came from.

Quite simple so far. I wish for a daughterboard to add the ROMs to my Kurzweil K2000.

And I wish that the upgrades I've bought recently will make it past the customs quickly and come here before the year is over.

Then let's see what I need. I'm sure I can get quite far what I've got when the K2000 is upgraded far enough.

Martman, some time ago I asked Big Time if he knew whether the Oxygene 10 horn lead was from the Kurzweil or not, as Jarre used this sound for an Oxygene 2 intro in Athen. Maybe you could join and see if you can figure out if this was really a program from the Kurzweil.
I read somewhere that as standard the K-2000 is full of orchestral sound. JMJ used the Kurzweil for Oxygene 10 during the Oxygene tour but also for that Oxygene 2 intro in Athen.

Vinceblood posted a sample of the lead sound on Jarre.net,it was a brass type patch with a low filter cutoff as it was more of a string timbre......if i remember rightly i think he said it was off the Roland JV expansion cards Can't recall exactly,all i know is he posted an audio of it


or maybe it was off the K2000...seeing as Jarre played it from the K2000 perhaps it was a patch from that,but during the Oxy tour jarre only played the first melody pass,then played the Theremin,so who played the second melody run!!!Francis???he certainly had a Roland synth within his viccinity...

Anyone else clarify where this Patch is off!!!Vince!!!
