Naturally we asked Dominique also whether he now only pursue their own projects, or even collaborate with Jarre. Further cooperation, he is apparently not averse, but Jarre currently working on his new album, and if this is done, you'll see. The work on the album would last very long, as Jarre here with a lot of people working together and a lot of conversations and telephone calls were made??. In fact, already some time ago announced that Jarre would produce an album together with a number of French electro-musicians. Accordingly, these are apparently not a remix album, but actually is a studio album of new music produced Jarre in collaboration with other artists. Dominique estimated that up to completion still could pass three or four months and then it might be published in March just to match the planned concert in Perth.

I remember the itinerary well. Sure to be more added on, maybe... There is no harm for artists to speak about what they are doing however long it takes them.

That was not the discussion here. You made a post saying that fans should not dictate of what is expected of an artist (which I agree wholehearted with), but in the case of this new studio album JMJ certainly made a lot of mistakes. The point I'm making (by bolding the statements JMJ made regarding the album(s)) is that fans get frustrated because of what JMJ has said and promised in the past.

Yes and sometimes I am one of these fans who wait for a new album, new concert, etc. We just should be grateful he is doing something. If those feel they have been let down due to these "promises" then they can make a decision on what they choose to do being his fan or not being his fan.

We know for sure that Jarre met with people from "Record Makers" in 2008 and that he's kept in touch with these french guys. But since 2009, Jarre has mostly spoke of releasing music on Internet only. I'm sure Jarre can sell the album through his friends of Qobuz in an exclusive way in top-notch quality, and use the touring for accessing the medias for a wider-audience.

Time and time again people have wondered as to where the so-called new material is that JMJ himself (check Dr_Jones posts) has publicly announced were in the pipeline. Jean Michel either said it himself or he didn't. So when comment after comment is made that a new album is in the pipeline and expected by such a such date, those dates come and go, and no album, then you must expect people to ask "where is the album you were talking about". So why shoot people down in flames for asking? It is this way of thinking that makes the whole saga look bitter. If JMJ has thrown in the towel, so to speak, would be nice if the fans were informed so we know what to expect for the future instead of waiting patiently for this new album. Is that really too much to ask for? Because reading some of the posts here on a JMJ forum it appears it is.

But the point is; JMJ (the artist) has announced time after time of new projects and given estimated times of release. He shouldn't do that if he has no intentions to fulfill his commitments and his promises. Without no updated message that projects are delayed or canned, fans will ask what is happening with the project. Lets be brutishly honest here, JMJ's career has sunk quicker than the Titanic. His private life played a big part in that. Events unfolded which happens to us all and of which he could not control or change. But he has struggled to get back up. So when you add all this into the mix, it comes across that he does not understand what the fans expect of him as an artist. And yes, we do expect a lot from him because he is the artist, we are not. That applies to ALL artists, not just JMJ. But JMJ needs to get back into the studio. Back into gear. Back into music. Back into limelight as a forerunner and show these modern day artists how it is properly done.

There is a difference of making announcements which of the new album nothing is official until the release date. I appreciate that JM has mentioned on a number of times he is working on a new album but as saying these are promises and commitments cannot be that he is tied down to them for anyone. He spoke of it but not made a certain guarantee declaration. As for your opinion, “JMJ's career has sunk quicker than the Titanic,” it is only your opinion as I take it as a fan (?). Why should we expect anything from him - he is free to do what he wants as an artist and it is up to the fan/s to decide solely to either be his fan or not. He has nothing to prove as he has made his career a great achievement and does not solely go around making music. His contribution is vast beyond expectations as an artist. He says he is working on various projects but that does not necessary mean it is all official and sooner rather than later will see the light of day. There is no struggle with his career, imho. Let him choose the right path and not be directed by certain views. Having said that, I await for the new album patiently and all what he does because he does not stand alone just for making music. He wants to contribute greatly in other areas.
