We watched AVATAR on blu-ray tonight. My god, this film is visually stunning and even better in hi-def

Leningrad (stream-link)
-Good, strong story with Mira Sorvino as a female journalist trapped with a family in the middle of WW II's Leningrad.

A Serious Man (DVD)
-The Coen's...say no more. As mad as it gets, yet with a touch of tragedy.
(Kudos to the actors)

2012 (Blu-ray)
- A nice looking joke.

I had to update the firmware in my 2 yo BR player for this one. To make it work I also had to download and install Nero Burning ROM to transfer the update file via CD-RW and on the third try my player took it. I spent 4-5 hair pulling hours before I finally could watch the damn thing! New technology.

In the end though it was worth it.
Pretty nice one for being that much animated.

I don't think Avatar's worth being bald!

Yeah, lots of people have problems with that one.

I also read that Lord of the Rings is bad quality in BR. So much for modern digital wünder technology.

Yeah, I got caught out with that late last year when I purchased Terminator II (Skynet Edition) on blu-ray last year. However, the download took less than an hour to do.

It is not bad ... just wasn't as good as I thought it might be though - cannot really explain why .
Think it might be a good idea to rent first before deciding to buying ...
