Oxygene 7-13 is up there as one of my favourites.

Well, Oxygene 7-13 and Metamorphoses are decent albums, there are some superb tracks at the Vizitors' RV in Space concert in 2001, Geometry of Love is OK and Oxygene's Variation 3 is one of the best tracks he's ever made. So granted, his output hasn't been as consistant as it used to be, but it's far from lame.

That, and Sessions can be enjoyable every now and then. After that, Aero could have been better (best thing about that are the transistions between the tracks) and Teo&Tea was dissapointing, but now he's messing with them old ladies again (that sounds nasty ) - so lets hope for some decent release soon

Oxy 7-13 was his last good studio album as Jarre. Meta, GOL, S2000, T&T are weak in comparison, specially when you compare the music with the name Jarre. It's not what were use too. Personally, the best track from Jarre since 1998 is, to me, Oxy Variation 3. That is a more defined and more Jarre-sounding track. I'm not saying that Meta, GOL, S2000 and T&T are bad, just that they don't hold my attention unlike previous works of Jarre. It's evident that Jarre has lost his course this past decade. Bowing down to those who think he should keep up with the times. He tryed that with T&T and look where that got him.

I think it could be quite possible with the new stuff sounding more 'Old-Skool Jarre' than the recent stuff, based on the new offerings such as 'Variations 1-3', that new track linking 'Oxygène VI' with 'Oxygène XII' ('Variation 4' is it?) and the new track 'Adagio'.

True, 'Adagio' does need a lot of work (a melody line, a change of chord progression, basic bassline etc.) but from what I heard it does sound promising and he hasn't played anything later than 1997 in his recent setup so maybe he's purposefully distancing himself away from the post-1997 material, so that he can get 'in the zone' and make another old-skool album.

But, to be honest, I quite liked Sessions 2000, even it was a quick album to get out of the Dreyfus contract!

I'm gonna give it a good spin tomorrow. I do remember Chatterbox or something was really nervewreckingly awful.. we'll see.

So. . . . . . . . . . . .. whose record label is Jarre signed too? If reports are correct, his new studio album is due out in the Autumn (fall).

Well, yeah...during promo visit in Tours, he mentionned fall of this year as period of new album release.
We'll see.

On JMJ’s MySpace page it mentions that his record label is:

Type of Label: Indie

An independent record label (or indie record label) is a record label operating without the funding of or outside the organizations of the major record labels.

Or translated another way... Import Only $34.00 per CD. I'll take it anyway I can get it.
