After reading all the other posts in this topic .... For what it is worth , here is my uninformed opinion ..... (a post from my personal blog)
future is now, future is green
I don't know if climate change is purely down to Human actions, or is just a natural occurance, but I would rather do something now to cut my carbon footprint, to recycle, to become more energy efficent.... to be more "Green" ... and to maybe find that it has no actual effect on the planet and it's ecosystem ( but I doubt it ) , than to do absolutely NOTHING now, to continue as we are and to find 30 or 50 years down the line that it is too late - that our way of living does have an effect and it is too late to do anything about it.
Yes, the planet has shown a great ability to adapt, to change, to "heal" itself in the past, and may do in the future .... shouldn't we, as residents of this planet (along with all the other animal and plant life .... we all have as much right to exist on this planet ) do everything in our power to help it do just that ? Pumping so much Co2 into the atmosphere may not be the sole cause of climate change... but is it really helping the planet ?
You can ignore me if you wish, or dismiss me as a green "hippie" type .. it is just what I feel. I might be right, I might be wrong .. only time will tell.... time we may not have.
