I am a little worried of the techno/dance/trance thing that it's suited for according to users. Since I make mostly ambient/soundtrack like music I'm afraid that I would be unused. Is it true that it only fit for that type of music. The choir in Oxygene 7 would fit perfect in any ambient track...are there more sounds like it, strings, soft pads...etc?

£150 was indeed a very nice price. There is one for sale here in Sweden right now for about 440 Euro...I think it's a bit too much..

Yes Plenty,some of the Best Pads I've heard in a long time,infact I'm an avid Fan of Korgs Pads,and i must say that some of the Sounds in the Raven Knock spots off some korg ethereal pads...

It has plenty of stock sounds too,its not just Dance saw leads and blippy acid lines,it has plenty of "Normal" sounds,it has a particuarly nice Wurlitzer sound....

You'd be surprised like i did,even though many people say its a dance genre synth,how well suited this synth would be for Ambient stuff and plenty of other genres too..

How much did you pay it ?
Is it better or worse than the 2 or the 3 ?

It costed me about 1200€

I have not compared to the other versions but it can do much more pad stuff than I had expected, also alot of analog sounding leads and basses. It is said to be more or less exactly like 1 and 2 just with more polyphony and memory.

All I can say is that it is damn cool. The funny thing was that the first sound I had decided to program was a lead I did on the Korg Legacy MS-20, but that was more or less already done on patch 1 on the Nord typically

Did you not push for a discount???1200 euro(Around £800 UK pounds)is about the max sale price here,but I'm sure you'd be able to badger a discount on that in the UK.

First rule of buying for me,is to ask what the best price deal they can offer it for,before i commit,if its not satisfactory I'll go somewhere else..most retailers can price match or better in come cases,if they cant discount,I will ask for extras in with the deal...

Most retailers can discount gear easy,its just they wont tell you unless you ask...,If your cheeky enough like me and keeping pestering them till the do,you can save yourself £££

Not sure if Danish retailers offer the same,but would have thought so as they all buy from the same manufacturers

Actually there was a big discount on it already. The salesman was amazingly surprised when he compared to the original price which was more than 1600€.
Like you said, you can always push the price, and I have done that before but in this case, I didn't due to the already big discount and because I was so desperate to get it, my other local musicstore was selling it for the same price some time ago but now they have raised their price with 134€. In some way I was kind of desperate because I was affraid that this other store where I bought it also soon raised the price. I hope you know what I mean, the situation about getting this synth made me desperate and tired of waiting for a good price to show up.

That sounds good. My friend used to have this synth a long time ago and I remember that he was very fond of the stringsounds. If you have the time I'd be more than happy to hear a little demo of some of the sounds.

I found out now that the Raven I've seen for sale is a Raven Max.
So I think that I will buy it if the guy lowers the price a bit...if he still got it.

I think so, but it was with him during Imac Night, but then again he didn't make the remixes on Odyssey Through.
